Merrymount And Cesa Gallery

By Gemma Cleanslate

Saturday the BBB and Intercontinental passport groups held a new addition to services by instituting the first tour to obtain special stamps and introduce more residents to lovely places on the Bellisseria continent. We gathered near the office on Swordfish and went down to the rezz zone where there were two large and comfortable helicopters waiting to take us on a flight to Victorian Merrymount, one of the community regions . Two experienced pilots, Brian and Kevin made us feel comfortable and safe on the trip. For several this was their first helicopter ride and they loved it. We did lose two or three along the way but they were rescued and joined us later . We won’t blame the pilots though.

Merrymount is a beautiful region on Bellisseria. It offers a place to relax and enjoy games or just hanging around with friends. The Atrium is gorgeous and stands on a hill .It is open for visitors 24 hours with food and drink. There were six special stamps placed at various sites around the region and we had fun roaming to find them. For those who missed the trip they will remain until December 3.

On the way back we stopped off at Pegleg Lighthouse where one more stamp waited for us. After the tour ended we all flew back to the headquarters for a party in the garden with DJ Stephanie. I am looking forward to the next tour event. I hope you can join us. Stamp collecting is great fun and introduces one to all sorts of venues across the whole grid.

For those who need a passport

“If you don't already have a passport, you can get an Intercontinental one almost instantly. But it still takes about 15-20 minutes to set up... so come early! Click the white and yellow terminal that says "Intercontinental Passport Citizen of Second Life." It will give you a folder with a passport in it. You will need to rez it to the ground to set it up and the BBB HQ is a no-rez area. You can either TP home to set the passport up and then return, or you can go the rez zone near the BBB HQ. The terminal to get the passport is located here:

Sunday my friend Stevie Basavi opened her new gallery. She has shown art at various galleries but now has her own at Cesa. She says of her art .”I love art very much and want to make photos that I can feel, and that bring out emotions in others. I want to be able to put on virtual canvas the things that I have hidden inside, and to capture magic using layers of creativity, meaning I build my own sets, and create multi media pieces, using light and music in my creations when I am able”.

Her landscapes are varied and reflect her love of the beauty created across the sl grid. She also has lovely portraits. Her pieces are for sale at the gallery. It was a delight to walk around at the opening which had a large attendance and look at the variety of landscapes . Take a trip over to view the new installation on Pride Island. http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Pride%20Island/106/111/3361

Some Events and Places at Bellisseria

By Gemma Cleanslate

Saturday was busy here on Bellisseria . I attended a wedding on the ship Galaxy which is parked off the west coast of Bellisseria. Though I spent time on the Galaxy for many years while it was privately owned I had never been to a wedding there and it was a lovely venue on the forward region. The seats were filled as we waited for the bride.

Ambassador Freddie Harrington (Madonna666 Resident) of the Nautilus Continent and his lovely first lady, Hailey Harrington (ItsHailey2021 Resident) made their vows in the presence of Captain Camden McAndrews. The ceremony was short but sweet and Hailey immediately assumed her new name as part of it. That was nice a sweet touch that I had not witnessed before at any wedding.

A party followed over at the Party House and Gym on Sweetmarsh with music and food and champagne. It was enjoyed by all who attended.

I also learned that the BBB moved! This is not the first time. I try to keep up with the location so I can get a new visa when mine is filled. For those who don’t know, The Bellisseria Bureau of Bureacracy office is where one goes to get a passport, a driver’s license, and a plate for vehicles. They also sponsor the various Embassies on each continent and house the office of the BBB Gazette next door in their own building. Any resident of Bellisseria can avail of all their services. Go check it out. http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Swordfish/207/49/33

Not only all that but I heard from Ollie (Oliver Osei), a well known Hobo that there is actually a shelter for Homeless on Bellisseria so of course I had to go check that out. Sure enough there it was in Ashton Village. The house is situated at the top of a rock cliff with a great view all around at Deadman’s Curve.

I was greeted by cat who wanted to know how I got so tall.

The décor I would call Hippy and musical at the same time. Huge posters emblaze the walls through out the entire house. A huge tiger relaxes on the sofa and did not threaten me.

There is a free wearable tent in a box for those who need one. I love wearable seating so I grabbed one.
I was going to ask the neighbors what they thought about the shelter but no one was home.

I did make contact with the Owner, Larree Quixote, a performer, who told me, “ When I first started trying to get a home in Bellisseria, it was almost impossible to land one. I spent many weeks trying to no avail. But I didn't let it get me down. I decided to have fun with it. I got my wearable tent and started exploring the many regions on foot. And whenever the SL Sun went down, I would set up my tent on a nice piece of land. During my journeys I decided that when I finally got a home, I would turn it into a homeless shelter and open it for all who needed a place so stay in Bellisseria. And I couldn't have asked for a better location. The Bellisseria Homeless Union House was the first place I was offered and I kept it. And to this day, it is open to all”

So if you are looking for a home go visit. Contact Laree.

After all this I made my way off continent over to the wonder Mardi Gras Parade . I look forward to this every year. Dj Frannie as usual has all her fantastic 103 rolling and flying floats out. Most of them you can hop on and ride down the street dancing along. It is great fun.

Not only is the parade running 24/7 many of the shops on either side of the street hold souvenirs such as beads and potions and more to collect. Don’t miss the Zombie shop or the restaurant or dining places. Walk behind the entrance area through the garden to see the sweet New Orleans homes. Walk across the parade route to the Carnival area with the games and rides.

Look for the teleports that allow you to scroll through and choose the venue you want to visit. When you arrive read the handout that gives hints for a good time while you are there. Most of all have fun and bring friends. Thanks to DJFrannie and her staff for this grand experience every year . The parade will run until March 1.

Bellisserian Embasy Opens in Continent of Corsica

By Gemma Cleanslate

The long awaited Bellisserian Embassies are starting to open. The first one is located on the Trendone Road in Timescape on the continent of Corsica . Many gathered for the formal opening.

BÓÒ (Boo Rojyo) of the Bellisserian Bureau of Bureaucracy  acted as the Master of Cremony and greeted everyone present. He introduced Abnor Mole who spoke about the continent of Corsica and the hopes for all becoming more connected to each other and the Bellisserians. “"Your world. Your imagination." is a dream and a spirit that has always been shared within the Second Life community.”

Abnor Mole handed the key to Jack Vincent, the first Ambassador ,on Friday the 19th of November and many witnessed .He gave his acceptance speech.

ᴊᴀᴄᴋ ᴠɪɴᴄᴇɴᴛ: "I'd like to take this opportunity to thank Abnor Mole for taking time out of his busy schedule to present me with this key.

"I'd also like to thank Boo Rojyo and the entire staff of the Bellisserian Bureau of Bureaucracy for this opportunity to serve the residents of Bellisseria and Corsica. Lindens, Moles, content creators, residents of Second Life, It is with great pleasure that I accept this role of being your Bellisserian Honorary Ambassador to Corsica. Just as the continent of Bellisseria itself acts as a bridge between the surrounding continents of Second Life, I hope to serve as a bridge between the residents of Bellisseria and those residents of Corsica. Having had parcels in Corsica, with my first one back in 2017, and now my current parcel, while also being a new resident of Bellisseria, I feel uniquely situated for this role.
I look forward to working with the future ambassadors of each continent and those individuals who call them home, especially those of the Bellisserian and Corsican communities, to establish stronger creative and social connections between them all.

"Thank you all for joining us to celebrate this important first step in that endeavor.

"Now let us celebrate!”

And we did with dancing in the Embassy.

The Embassy  is located on the Trendone Road in Timescape on the continent of Corsica so passersby will see it and perhaps stop in. The neighborhood has a rezz zone nearby .

I spoke with the new ambassador who says he has some wonderful activities planned for the visitors .  Jack said “: I've working on possible travel HUDs and tours. I'd definitely like to do in person tours and if possible HUD tours. I'd also like to have music events and dances at the Embassy's event room. That is going to be a big even in January of 2022 for the 2nd anniversary of the BBB but things are still in development.”

I can’t wait to see what goes on. When you visit the office touch the pictures on the wall for information.  http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Timescape/197/83/68

The next embassy that will open will be on the continent of Heterocera. The date is not set yet but I went to see it and visit with the appointed Ambassador. The building layout is similar and it is located on the railway in Tersa. All the Embassies will be similar so they are recognizable .

The Ghost (TheGhostOfGhost) will be Ambassador when she accepts the key soon. There will be a reception as at Corsica. We talked about the future in the Embassy office . Over her desk she has a portrait of Oz Linden who she hopes will guide her in her new position.

She has some ideas for her new position . All the future Ambassadors will be hosting events at their Embassies . The Bureau of Bureaucracies of Bellisseria in concert with the Lab  is sponsoring this whole activity across all the continents to create more connections with the residents of second life.
