Interviewing Jasmine Dawn And Nydia Tungsten About The Happy Vixen

By Deaflegacy

The Happy Vixen is the beach club of the Sunweaver community, as well as for the group of the owner's friends, Nydia's Angels. It is owned by Nydia Tungsten and managed by both Snowbuns (Skylark Lefavre) and the Newser's own Bixyl Shuftan. Recently, the club was remodeled, and the job fell to Jasmine Dawn (Orasine), whom also has done a few Halloween builds for the club. I met up with Jasmine to talk to her about the club.

Jasmine described her position at the Happy Vixen, “As security and as it's builder. I help as needed and when something needs tweaked.”

I was wondering how long Jasmine has been part of the Happy Vixen Club.  “Oh for years, this club used to be over where the Redfoxx clan is now and it started out as a work in progress place.” said Jasmine.  “Orginaly it was a covered dock side club, very small place.  Nydia Tungsten wanted something bigger.”

I asked Jasmine about the new Happy Vixen Club that we were sitting on. “This place?" she said, "It originally was a club set on another sim that Nydia controls. Very little traffic there. But it had potential for a great open air type club.  I seen it and felt it a shame the design wasn't being used as much it should. The question came up about a rebuild and this place (in the other place) was the first idea of many I had.  It offered more room for the patrons, seating and followed suit in the beach theme. There is still things that needs be done for the reopening tomorrow evening (March 17).  I still need work on a spot for Geerkil to sit when he is here.  Geerkil, if you didn't know, is a giant Seawolf type dragon.” Geerkil's large body means he takes up more room than other DJs.

My next question was would Jasmine continue being with the Happy Vixen for a long time.  “For as long as I am needed, " Jasmine replied, "Or till management can find someone better.”

While Jasmine and I were talking, club owner Nydia Tungsten came along.  I invited her to join in the interview.

I asked Jasmine what inspires her to build an amazing club like the Happy Vixen.  “Well, I do it for the people," she replied, " I see people sitting around, nothing to do really or really no place to hang out at. I like giving things that occupy their time and when it is here at a place I've helped with.  It makes it better.  I've done many things as events in the past, did the haunted Halloween maze and the haunted house.  Everyone really enjoyed the haunted maze and the woods style club area.”

I asked Nydia about her role in the The Happy Vixen Club. She replied,  “Well... I own THV and created it for alternate days for the space club.”

My next question to her was how long has she been an owner of The Happy Vixen Club.  “Since it was created," She answered, “Well the first one was VERY simple but popular build.  But that one was build by my friend Treminari.”

I asked Nydia how long would she continue to be the owner of The Happy Vixen Club.  She replied, “As long as I can.”

I told Jasmine that I think she did a remarkable job on the particular build.  “I always try to put my best foot, hoof, forward in my builds.” she said, “I'm always about, mostly hamming it up with friends but like now, I'm wondering what I am missing.”

It was an interesting interview.  Not only did I get to interview the builder of an awesome club, I also get to interview her boss.

Shockwave's Haunted Maze And The Angels' Haunted Mansion

By Bixyl Shuftan

October has come to Second Life and the Sunweaver/Angels community. And this means of course Halloween season. All over the grid, haunted places and Halloween-themed parties are springing up. And the Sunweaver/Angels community is no exception. If anything, the people here seem to go more into it.

The Sunweaver's noted builder, Shockwave Yareach, has come out with a haunt for the community, and anyone else who want to give it a try: the "Sunweaver Haunted Maze 2018." It is located high above the Sunweaver Eclipse sim.

The Maze is now live and operating. There are six kinds of coins.  Touch one of each, and win fabulous prizes.  Oh, and beware of the monsters and the traps.  We, um, haven't fed the monsters in quite awhile, so they are hungry.  And you look tasty...All are welcome!  Have fun

At a table near the entrance, touch the tall blue box to get the game HUD and a short description of the game. The object in the game is to find the six coins in the haunted maze. But it won't be easy. The maze is tricky to find your way around in. And then there are the traps, such as saw blades. And what would a Halloween maze be without monsters, who'd love to do you in. Be careful as you retreat from them as you might end up in a dead end, and then it's lunchtime for the monsters.

The object of the game is to find all six of the coins. The first two people to do so get one thousand Linden dollars. The third and fourth get five hundred. The fifth and sixth get three hundred. The first six winners also get their names on display.

If you've had experience with Shockwave's games before, you have some idea what you're in for. If not, well, be ready for a challenge

If the maze isn't enough, or you want a different challenge, or just someplace to chill in spooky surroundings, head on over to the Purrfection Estates sim. A landmark, or a portal at the Happy Vixen beach club will take you to the Haunted Mansion, sometimes called the Haunted Manor

The Mansion is where Happy Vixen events will be held until after Halloween. On Monday October 8, the first event was held there, with DJ Khyra spinning the tunes.

Hey folks! Trick or Treak arrived early in Purrfection. Ghosts have taken over the Happy Vixen, but are allowing us the use of the haunted mansion. So come on over. The theme tonight is Come As You Are, with DJ Khyra as she's "Spinnin the best EDM tracks ever recorded. So come on down and join in the party!" Pardon any quirks as all of the ghosts might not have been told about the party.

Jasmine Dawn (Orasine), who built the Haunted Manor, had a few words to say to the people at the party, "Firstly Lets give a warm thanks to Umbra (Gardenvale) for allowing this place be built. (And) for Happy Vixen for allowing me to do something for everyone again this year. Now about this place, this mansion is haunted of course. Also there is a mystery here to be solved. If you go out into the front lobby, there is a Mystery board there that will give you a clue. And that clue leads to another, and another, so on and so forth. It will take you all over this house in search of the answers. Once you think you have the mystery solved, go back to the mystery board and give your answer. IF you solve the mystery, please keep the answer to yourself as not to ruin the mystery for others.

"Be warned though, this house has traps, one pitfall that I know of. Some the lighting is faulty and may fall. There are followers, manglers, a fast 'lil rat I can't catch. If you feel your trapped, teleport back to the landmark you all should have. It will place you back outside. If you should become part of the mansion decor wise, your next of kin will be notified."

Jasmine would also say there was a prize for solving the mystery, but didn't say what it was, "if you have something that is FULL perms and wish to include it as a prize, I can add it to the mystery board."

Despite a few glitches that night, the first party went well. The cash prize of 750 Lindens was split between Carolcream and Rita Mariner.

So for "spook-tacular" parties, or a challenging mystery to solve, come on to the Haunted Mansion.

Addition: On October 15, Shockwave announced, "The coinhunt maze is closed due to unforeseen technical problems.  The winner is DUSK who got 5 of 6 coins." Apparently, there is a bug in the code in the HUD that is too deep to find before Halloween is over, and so the contest is over, at least until next year. But those wanting to try to get through the maze are still welcome to try.

The “Happy Vixen’s” Grand Re-Opening

On November 26th, the “Happy Vixen” beach club had its “Grand Re-Opening” party. For several days, it had been closed, undergoing reconstruction. And when the job was done, owner Nydia Tungsten ordered a special party to celebrate.

Before she was entrusted with her position at Club Zero Gravity, Nydia Tungsten once owned another beach club: Angel’s Beach. Some time after becoming the space club's owner, Nydia placed a small shopping mall on the surface of the Purrfection sim, one that looked like a beachside shop with it’s thatched roof and wooden supports instead of walls. Next to the water, the decision was made to place a small beach club, built by Treminari Huet. It had all the basics of a club, plus a couple dancing poles plus tip jars for dancers and the DJ. The little beach club came to be known as “The Happy Vixen.”

Zero Gravity continued to be the main club in the sim, and indeed the little beach club was often seen as an extension of the larger space club, it’s “planetside beach getaway.” But it remained in regular use, and had it’s own group separate from Club Zero, as well as being counted among the clubs at the FCA club alliance. Parties were held at the “Vixen” usually once a week, often with beach music and the residents dancing around in bathing suits. Between parties, residents could always scoot around in the water in a couple jet skis in a nearby pier.

For months, the weekly parties of fun in the sun continued with few changes, an extra dance pole put up, a piece of artwork put up. A larger beach club, “Raised Tail Resort,” joined the FCA, but it didn’t seem to affect numbers at the “Vixen.” Recently came news from owner Kryxia Silverfall that “Raised Tail” would be closing it’s doors indefinitely due to events beyond her control.

It is with tears in my eyes that I announce that Raised Tail Resort is now closed, you will see a few more notices in the future about where you can find your favorite staff member. We are not gone for good, but like any fur, there is hibernation. Here's to hoping for an early spring.

Although there was still the “Happy Vixen,” both for the patrons and the DJs and hosts, some people had come to love the structure and beach of the larger club. Nydia Tungsten decided that perhaps after all this time, the Happy Vixen could use an expansion.

Jasmine Dawn (OraSine Resident) was given the job of rebuilding the Happy Vixen. She used the design of “Raised Tail” as an inspiration, Kryxia contributing a few items as well. The club itself was larger, with another room next to the dance floor, a future mall area with spaces for rent. The new structure has a little less open space on the sides, with a gap between lower and upper walls. The gap itself is partly covered by vines, though still allows sunlight in. The club has a wide entrance to and from the beach. in a hall between the dance floor and the second room, one can get information about renting a place in Purrfection.

Jasmine’s design included a beach. The wide beach has a number of palm trees, at least one of which drops coconuts, so careful where you step. There are a few beach towels to lie on, a hammock, a couple lounges with overhead sheeting, a few floats to rest on, a partly hidden cuddle spot or two, a couple games people can pass the time playing, plus the two jet skis from the previous build. And of course the waves lapping at the shore, and the terrific view at sunset/sunrise.

It should be noted that the beach at the Happy Vixen is a nude beach, where human, furred, and neko avies are free to go about in the buff. This was a decision Nydia made after taking to several friends whom complained about a certain development around the Grid: Second Life’s nude beaches are closing. Nydia had been told a number of “clothing optional” beaches were shutting down, and those that remained were often “perv beaches” which were the scenes of riskee behavior out in the open that would get one banned from ordinary nude beaches. The result was girls finding it harder and harder to find a place where they could enjoy full exposure without being pestered for sex.

“This nude beach is for those that have put a lot of time and effort into their skins and want to show it off, not for those looking for a quick lay,” Nydia Tungsten explained,”those will be banned immediately. It is a place to come hang out, ... um, no pun intended .... just to enjoy Second Life.”

With the refurbishing completed Saturday November 26th, Nydia threw a special party in the late afternoon to celebrate. Announcements were made in several groups, by both Nydia and Kryxia. On the board was a special prize of 2000 Lindens! Playing the tunes was one of the DJs from Raised Tail, DJ Artimay, whose metallic form got him the nickname of “DJ Furbot” by some. From 4 to 6 PM, a couple dozen residents, furred, neko, and human, danced around. Among those celebrating was a friend of longtime regulars and staff. Lsai Aeon, the beloved “Purple Puppy” DJ of Zero Gravity and elsewhere, had ended a period of hiatus and returned.

The DJ spun the tunes and the partiers danced until a bit after Six. Some went on to Club Cutlass, which had it’s Saturday party just afterwards. Others continued to dance a little to the KVXN music stream, or went to the beach to relax.

It was a good start to the new Happy Vixen.
