A Look At The New Ranch Linden Homes

By Gemma Cleanslate

While I was busy with SL20B the Ranches were released for Premium Plus members . It was a huge item of discussion and many took advantage of them of them immediately. The first 600 available disappeared really fast. It was all amazing. I asked two friends if I could come visit their homes to see what it was like in the neighborhood. My first trip was over to Overshoe where BethanyMark has her ranch.

It is a lovely home with open space inside and out. I like it because of the openness. To me too many walls separating rooms like the traditionals I have visited are too confining for me. Others love them I know for a cozy feeling and can decorate rooms with different styles.

Bethany has a gorgeous open living room and can fit a beautiful aquarium at one end and a piano at the other. Her décor is charming .A game room /library sits next door to the Living room.

Outside in the back she has delightful pond and a separate area for a horse corral.

It is very country but with an elegant feel.

My next visit was to Deadpan to the ranch of Margo Heartsong.

Again, it is also open and inviting and though has a few more walls is not confining at all. Each room has its own flair with the kitchen and dining area looking very rustic.

The Living room is also spacious with a piano I sat down to play! I loved the wooden floor and the window treatments .

Out back is filled with growing flowers and plantings of corn. Cows and a bull and horses populated the area . It definitely has a farm feel.

Since it is set on a pond there is an outside comfortable sitting area there. It is fun to see how each has their own vision of ranch living. Both wanted a piano which made me jealous since I don’t have room on my houseboat but would love one. Both the piano and the aquarium reminded of my first home on Thorstar where I lived for many years. Each also had lovely artwork on the walls. Thanks to Bethany and Margo for sharing their homes.

The many variety of Linden homes can be seen at the Bellihub if you would like to check them out.

Here at the Bellihub one can see a video, teleport to an individual type of home or walk by each one and touch the house controller in front for each type to see each of the styles you are offered. I did not see the Ranch there yet .

Update on Bellisserria

By Gemma Cleanslate

Now that the SL16B is a pleasant memory and things have quieted down for the summer doldrums there is still a hot place in sl and that is the new continent of Bellisserria. The moles are back at work feverishly trying to fulfill the dreams of those who want to move there .

I got a chance to watch Abnor Mole as he rolled out some new homes on streets in a sim to be released soon.

I roamed the Raccoon Run just after it opened and met and greeted some new residents as they claimed their homes and started decorating immediately. It is fun to watch them  choose their home then change it to a different model. Some start with the yard and some start inside .

Some residents have decided to use their property differently by creating an office , art gallery, or other use. The waters of some of the houseboats have been transformed completely . I visited the Buddhist Center in back of one. It is very lovely.

I stopped at a tea house with a gazebo overlooking the water .

Here I am in Giulio Marchetti coffee shop waiting in line for my expresso .

There are several houseboats that contain mer hang out places in their water area and also inside the houseboat!

There are several active groups already , so active I hardly ever arrive in sl without an immediate ding from one or more of them. There is alway conversation going on about the camaraderie that is so evident among all the new residents and even many who are still waiting to get their homes or houseboat.

In one conversation I learned that Razarstone  has been camped out in Guppy waiting for a houseboat. I went over to check out the sim and the camp and there he was resting in his tent on top one of the empty houseboats. Razor shared a video he had made of his wait that you can see here : .  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_PKDa6opxdA

RazarStone Resident had a motto “Never give up...never surrender (laugh)”

He is one of many people waiting for either homes or houseboats , or holding off for a camp trailer displayed at the SL16B. Many commiserate in the groups and are consoled and urged to be patient by those who have successfully settled on the new continent after their wait.

They should see the moles working so hard to get them in soon.

Bellisseria: The New Linden Homes Continent

By Gemma Cleanslate

I have been visiting the new continent to roam around the roads, view the parks and swimming pools and beaches. The area I visited is all settled . It only took 48 hours to fill up!

The houses are new designs and reminiscent of the east coast towns in the USA to me. I checked them out .

Actually, though charming,  they are not appealing to me. My house in Thorstar is a condo and open ,  not too big or too small  and sits on a mainland island facing the waterway. I have lived here for 10 years. as a renter.

I find these houses have too many walls, stairs and the rooms to me are confining. I checked out all the types . They are lovely and I know many could not wait to move in. I think hundreds are still waiting!

However . though some say they are small, I love the houseboats!  So I am waiting for one now.
I packed up all my furniture and abandoned my linden home in Padgett. According to the Second Life Community Linden Homes forum  discussion and the blog  we are all watching for the opening of the new area which has so many houseboats with slips for boats. Every day we watch and wait. Patch Linden says the moles and LDPW are hard at work for the next opening

My friend Evola Courtois already has a houseboat and Cali Courtois (Caliba Sassower) , his partner is getting one also. He sent me over to a small island where I could see all the houseboats being prepared in the new site to open .

I met a new friend ,Kἷќἷ Ðĩνĩπĩէу (KiKiDivinity Resident) sitting on a rock gazing out over the water. She already has a home there and is active in the police department. My friends Evola and Caliba came along in a boat. I decided to rezz a boat and take kiki for a ride . It started well but I passed the bouy and that was a nono. We ended up in the water where kiki told me that the bouy was the stopping point and she was trying to warn me. Ah well. Next time I will know better!

I will let you know what happens with the new home. By the time this is published may already have it! Patch Linden  just posted that they expect the houseboats to be available in 24 hours!  If you want to take a look this will take you to the island  where you can put your draw line out to see the new docks .
