Tex Tree Farm

By Gemma Cleanslate,

Time to cut the tree! Tex has so many rich green fir trees on his lot Tex Tree Farm just waiting for the chop! The blades are sharpened and ready so bring the family or partner or go alone to get that tree on a sled and choose the décor.

It is so much fun picking out that special one, tall or short for the home or outside. I absolutely love visiting this farm.

Next move over to the gorgeous decorations , your choice of many varieties. Take a good look at all of them. Directions are clear to help you decorate. Santa seems to be keeping an eye on those who come.

I noticed something new there. I saw a cable line and went over to check. Sure enough there is a cable car leading down the hill and over the highway. Tex has a new restaurant, The Glacier Restaurant so don’t miss it.

You can have a lovely meal down there in a relaxing atmosphere and warm up, nice addition to the farm. After that I was off to Under the Tree Shop right at the top of the hill overlooking the farm. This is such a great store for anything you need. There have been some other changes here too.

Outside I found a cute snack shack in case you need to rest after or before your shopping in the store. It is for sale too with all the décor. Across the way I saw a lovely little skating pond.

Next to the big store is a Red Barn with animals to visit. Inside the same wonderful Christmas décor is still there . Many kids games and toys are available for purchase. I ran into Tex there while checking them out and asked him about the changes He said he would have Peppermint get in touch. The kitchen is still full of luscious dishes available for your holiday table and implements for cooking and serving. The arrangement has changed a bit but getting around is no problem. The various rooms are easier to see all the goodies there.

One new room is filled to the ceiling with vendors on the wall with an almost unimaginable display of décor you can choose to buy according to the number, Gachas! Samples are displayed on the floor. It all goes on and on! You have to go experience it all! Remember to take. The next room is filled with lovely furniture for the holidays, sofas, chairs , dining tables and more.

PeppermintTwinkles Resident the shop owner told me in answer to my question to Tex , “yes we have updated the main store and added 9 large Skydomes full of gatchas that we had a surplus of. The new Teleport indicates which skyedome is Christmas, Easter, Halloween and we will be adding a summer one next year. “ more than that , “We also own all the Seaside Resaturantes in SL.Later this month we will open ( in the red barn by the main store) the Xmas cafe shop that will include additional non gatcha Christmas items. “ I will have to go back for that too.I did check out the Gacha Store 2and 3 where I found more, larger fun items at 2 ! Time to move on!These are very busy people! I will have to visit all the sites after Christmas! I cannot even imagine the inventory! Plan time LOL !

Tex's Tree Farm

By Gemma Cleanslate

It is time to pick out that special Christmas tree for your home. One of the fun places to visit especially if you are bringing the family along to chop your own is Tex’s Tree Farm.

Here you find so many carefully grown trees to choose from. Tex has had this farm for many years. I love visiting there. I have watched families pick out trees , choose décor , and then visit Santa.

Grab your axe and go choose that special tree just for you and chop it down. Follow the directions for that. Tex has amazing texture changers available for an amazing price. Take a look at the decors you would like . There is a great variety. If you are feeling a bit lazy get the whole decorated tree. The notecard will explain it all. You will be able to control the number of prims to fit your needs.

After you wander around the farm and visit Santa it is time to go up on the hill and visit one of the loveliest shops in SL to look for décor or gifts.

”HO HO HO Gemma, Welcome to Under The Tree Christmas Shop. Best selection of Christmas gifts and deco items in all of SL. Please make sure you take all items after purchase.”

Lots of toys for the kids as well as drivable toys are there .

The next room has delicious looking food for your table. Be sure to take what you buy. It is a gotcha area. Another room is filled with furniture, tables , little Santas , many decorations that will grace your home.

At the other end of the building there is a room filled with more furniture, wall hangings and more trees to choose. The room is filled with décor for every room in the house. It is a great place to shop for that reason. Upstairs are so many gacha machines where you can choose the number of the item you want to purchase. The gachas contain clothing, accessories , decorations, and much more. Be sure to check them out. While you are walking around you might receive a gift. I got a cute little Santa hat.

When you leave the store take a right turn and walk up the hill to the barn where there are cute animated animals for sale . A nice addition to the gifts for the kids under the tree. Here is the entrance to the tree farm. I good place to start.

Still More Christmas Places

By Gemma Cleanslate

I am trying to ignore all the clothing sales and continue my Christmas décor tour. I spent the Friday after Thanksgiving decorating my houseboat for the season. Saturday I got back to Christmas décor shops . I love arriving at Under the Tree Christmas shop my first stop.

It always looks so gorgeous at the doorway with the shared environment. Inside is such a selection of any type of décor, lovely trees in one area, tables with little gifts and decorations for your own tables and signs for your walls. In the next area are delicious cakes , pies and pastries for your dining tables. Wonderful foods from ham turkey, prime rib platter and all the sides with utensils are available for purchase.

Another section is filled with delightful toys for all ages. I found some parents there trying to make decisions. Moving along into the next area I found wonderful outdoor scenery perfect for winter regions and snowy areas. Upstairs there is a great choice of furniture for the season.

From the main building I walked down the path to the barn where I found little animals that any family would like to add to their homes .Check out the whole store it is just packed with so much to look at , especially the toy section. http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Larsen/84/211/103

Just down the hill in front of the store is a favorite stop of mine, Tex ‘s Tree Farm. Here you can pick your own tree and chop it down!

Grab and axe and go for it. It is great fun. The trim comes with the tree when you pick it up. I chopped down a tree but did not pick it up so it disappeared into the air.

Tex has his trees growing and ready to take but he also has some other trees already set to go if you like, or wreaths. Some of the trees allow you to pick and chose what you want for decorations on it. It is a fun family activity. Enjoy! Larsen is one of the all time winter regions so dress for it! http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Larsen/81/195/103

Christmas Delights is a great place to visit if you are looking for outfits among other items. They have over 300 outfits from formal to fun in their Santa’s closet. It is dazzling! I saw that ad and ran over there first to take a look at them all. They are from some well known creators so go take a look. I have to make a decision about a couple and will be back after I decide. Some cute holiday jewelry is also available there.

Outside one is surrounded by trees garlands, wreaths to choose from. Mickey and Minnie Mouse in their red oufits either standing or moving around for those who love these and other characters from comics and stories. For those who are prim conscious by necessity some 1 prim animations of Santas and other characters of the season. They impressed me with their cuteness! They also had some nice dances on sale for 50L and I grabbed a couple. There is a wealth of garlands on the wall here, some sparkling. On sale is a choice of two radios that are transferable with 20 Christmas stations available. Nice gift idea! Great place to just wander and check out all the décor. I saw some awesome skating figures for your pond.

If you want to try some skiing there is a hill to climb and a saucer rezzer along with skis . Grab a free set and also a saucer to take with you for the whole winter season. Below the hill is a great skating pond with skate balls for singles or couples. I saw some awesome skating figures for your pond. http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Gen/102/164/27

There are so many markets and shops full of seasonal décor I hope to get to a few more and then will get to more Christmas places you might like to visit that may have some shopping but more sites to just roam and take pictures.

Return to Yosemite

Last July I introduced you to Yosemite and all its glories. Later, Deaflegacy did an interview with the owner, Jadyn Firehawk, and her other varied and helpful interests in Second Life. I have been back to Yosemite several times during the year for relaxation, a horseback ride, a visit to the Art Forest, and the new Ranger Station. Now there are so many new venues to visit, I felt the need to tell you about some of them.

At the entrance, there are teleport boards to aid you and a new guide to the sim you can pick up and save.

My first stop was to see the  Keao's World.  What a story behind this new spot. The builder of the obelisk is totally blind and did the build with Jadyn’s assistance. It is hard for me to imagine, but there it is, a two story build with area to dance , sit and have a dinner at the table or relax on the couch listening to the chimes of the fountain. Pick up the notecard there where Keao Wright explains herself and her life.

Another new and fascinating area is the new ArchLives . I was thrilled to see that this is an area set aside by Jadyn for “A visitable 3D architectural archive featuring replicas of famous buildings that were created for past purposes in Second Life, builds that would otherwise no longer exist, including the Barcelona Pavilion, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, Hatch Memorial Shell, and Villa Overby, with more exhibits to come.” This is the Canadian Parliament Library and Peace Tower.  I  immediately sent a message to a friend of mine who has marvelous builds from the past in his inventory and hope to see one there soon. Go see and feel the nostalgia.

My next TP was to the Yosemite Village Stores that are now near the Maganda Arts. A great collections of unusual shops to visit . I saw items here I have not seen anywhere before from art pieces to clothing to fertilizer. Don’t miss that area!!

From there you can wander right over into the Art Forest where there is an exhibit by Rage Darkstone at this moment. There are two get-togethers every week for friends and family and anyone is invited to come. Fridays from 5-7 people get together at the campfire next to the visitor building to talk and toast marshmallows. Sunday Morning you are invited to have brunch in The Bear's Lair Coffee Shop which is located inside the Visitor Center.

Jaydyn is relaxing in the new Eagle's nest in the forest of ancient Giant Sequoia trees. You can take your honey and have a private place to talk.

There is so much more to enjoy and explore at Yosemite and some wonderful places to live if you are so inclined. get yourself over there and look at the new places I have written about here, and use the teleporter to find the other treasures. The new horses are great for riding in the forest. Perhaps I will see you there.
