The Return of Yadni's Junk

By Gemma Cleanslate

BrianL61 Landar (Prof Grey) is a very very busy man. For almost a decade he has been cataloging, photographing and protecting the extensive collections of creations of Arcadia, also known as Aley. Many designers in the past years have not liked Aley. Why? Because she made so many things in Second Life, it is hard to keep track. Everything she made was free, transferable, copy, unlink, and do anything you wanted with them. I loved visiting her special places in Second Life. There are a few left. Some one can request a library setup on their own sim as Grey Nacht and others have done.

Now, of all things Brian is adding to the library in Anilis with a collection of Yadni junkyard items! Yadni was another treasure in Second Life. He loved to distribute free anything. He decided to close the junkyard about three years ago, I think it was. Like disappeared places of olden days it is missed. I remember going over to check it out for one more time as I often do when things are about to disappear. Nostalgia. Brian has started making some of his items available for anyone in Second Life to pick up again.

This is a daunting project. I went over to take a look . Brian told me ,”as an example the gadgets category has over 500 items that will be photographed, this is needed so the vendor can display the items correctly. I expect this to take a couple more months at least to complete the work and get everything up in vendors.” It is on the second floor of the library, which can also be considered a museum. Brian is setting up vendors one at a time because he takes pictures of everything before he places them in the vendors.. It is all much neater than Yadni’s junk yard was but here is the beginning!!

Those who went to Yadni’s will recognize many of the old good junk! For those who never got to the junkyard it is a trip to the early days of Second Life to go through the vendors and look.

For those who do recall going there it will be a great reminder of the early days of getting freebies to use in home and sim . I know there are still some great freebie places around. These are unique.  I say do not miss the opportunity to check it out as it begins. I will let you know when there are many more vendors to visit.

And Brian told me that in the future he is planning on adding to the collections with Moard Ling creations , another early distributor of freebies at the Freebie Follies. He will keep himself busy for the next few years I think. This landmark will put you at the library  Enter the doors and Yadni is upstairs to the left but enjoy the walk!

Editor's Note: Contacting Yadni, he was happy to hear that he was still remembered here in Second Life. He invited his old fans to check out his current project, his artwork on his youtube channel

Mieville Haunted Nawlins

By Gemma Cleanslate

For my second Halloween experience I went over to  Mieville Haunted Nawlins. I put on the hud I picked up at the entrance and raised my umbrella since it was pouring rain when I got there, lots of thunder too.  It is like a Haunted Mardi Gras so there is a slow parade of floats appearing that you can hop on any time as you see one.
The main street is lined with sweet little shops where you can purchase Halloween décor or outfits and other items as you pass. An outdoor market is offering goodies mostly for Halloween. Laughing Jack, a great pumpkin said to me,The ghost got lost in the fog… and he was mist…. “ .He looked like a great addition to a busy sim.   Some of your favorite designers have shops in this town area. I love the style of the shops and other buildings, some reminiscent of New Orleans so the build is a haunted Mardi Gras in “Nawlins.”
As you walk along you will notice little doors with either a red light or a green light. Click the green light doors and get either a trick or treat. As you collect treats they can be exchanged for prizes back at the entrance building. Visit again to check for more treats after some time has passed.
Down the hill from the main shops at the village is a wonderful carnival with fun rides and another market. I found a free shop with Aley’s goulish creations and picked up a few skeletons for home. The grave yard next door features wonderful ghosts, witches, grave stones and more if you are looking for sim decorations. There is a massive haunted house in the bayou, so I took a walk through, up and down the stairs facing frightening views along the way and survived until I fell through the floor of the upstairs porch. There is a little door in there too so don’t miss it. Lots of stairs and doors to explore will lure you onward and up but be careful!
After my visit to the carnival I went back up to the town to check the little doors again for more green lights. I stopped off at the cute outdoor restaurant next to the market and picked up a begnet and tea then began my tour of doors again. I am trying to get enough for a really nice prize so will be going back again. The whole sim is filled with little surprises and fun for the Halloween season and will be open through the 31st. Enjoy!

New Citizens Incorporated Kuula : A Beginner’s Safe Haven

By Wesley Regenbogen

New Citizens Incorporated ( NCI ) is an organization within Second Life that strives to help new avatars in Second Life and make their stay in Second Life as smooth as possible. They have different locations to visit, but Kuula is the place where most new avatars arrive at when they first sign up to Second Life. Older avatars often go there to help out their fellow citizens, because older avatars know how hard it can be to adjust to the new environment called Second Life.
If you are looking for new free clothes and other freebies, you can get free items in the Freebie Shop. Don’t know how to do things with your avatar, there are tutorials available to help you get around in Second Life You can also just go there to enjoy the music or the atmosphere or just relax and chat with people.
To make a short story shorter, Kuula is the ideal place for new avatars to start their adventure in Second Life. New Citizens Incorporated was founded by Brace Coral on April 23,2005.
At the NCI Campuses you can follow classes in many different areas like scripting, texturing, clothing and building. NCI has three campuses : NCI Kuula, NCI South and NCI Beach. A roster of the classes can be found at NCI Kuula. There are other locations listed on the website : http://wiki.nci-sl.info/doku.php?id=nci:locations
At NCI there are 100 volunteers that help run the NCI places and try to help newbies to get started. The NCI has 10,000 active members. There is also a group of NCI that enables you to chat with members of the group to answer your questions.
Here are a few screenshots of NCI Kuula :

Prehistorica

By Becky Shamen

For several weeks, our attention has been captured by RL and we even went a week without going on line. Now, ready to explore and report on virtual adventures, we have found a sim that is even more primitive than having no internet. We found a sim that goes back to when dinosaurs ruled the earth, 190 million years ago.

After viewing the shop, we returned to the time machine and entered the virtual Jurassic Park. As we wait for the scene to rez, we think the main adventure will be staying off the menu. In the distance, there is something red, moving about and, zooming in, it is a T-rex. Always quick to make new friends, we walk right up and greet it with, "Hi Mr. T, mind if I pose for a picture with you?" He was happy to do so and even did his best, toothy smile, when I said, "say cheese". With the picture taken, I wished him happy hunting and wandered off to see what else there was to do here.

Arriving at the sim, we are facing a time machine portal, flanked by two free avatars, a velociraptor and a time traveler. Turning around, we find a shop that sells dinosaur avatars. Not wanting to look too out of place, we wore a fur outfit that we had made.

Knowing that I could still be a between meal snack for such large creatures, it was a good Idea to turn the radar on, to keep a watch on the locals. Most of the yellow blips were at a safe distance away, but one was clearly in the air and seemed to be circling for a better look. It turned out, as expected, to be a pterodactyl, which opted to land near the T-rex, for a share of it's dinner, a freshly killed herbavore.

Having explored the whole sim and knowing an upcoming theme party involved space suits, we returned home to open the new, free time traveler avatar. We may be going back soon, to test run the free velocirapter avatar. This sim was the first and possibly only location in SL, where the only residents are sentient prehistoric reptiles. By all means, put this location on your bucket list.

Firestorm Support Center

By Gemma Cleanslate

Ed Merryman, one of the wonderful Firestorm support team members called for some help in the group  to test a new service item over at Firestorm Support Center Island. I was more curious than really helpful so went over to help test.  What a surprise ! I had never been over to the Center Island before,  only to the classrooms in the sky. After I assisted in the test, which is for a new more personal system that will begin  when it is ready and will be  announced in the blog.

I went for a stroll around to see what was there. The team has a marvelous tutorial for newbies . One of the best and simplest I have seen lately. On arrival, the avatar  takes a stroll along a pleasant path stopping at billboards that teach the basics of Second Life starting with walking, jumping, sitting flying and progressing to more activities one needs to learn for ease in second life. A barrier “teases” the avatar to learn the task before passing on or won’t let you go.  I was glad to see clear directions on using the camera which is so important. Instructions are simple to follow and give a notecard with further help for” ifs and buts.” Example: an Apple computer with different instructions as having only one button on the mouse.

There are also clothing freebies  along the way and changing rooms. At the end of the instructions there is a set of billboards with landmarks to more help places in SL where you can find more information, freebies and people to meet. I liked the etiquette section for newbies that aided in meeting people and the best way to fit into conversations and make friends easily. I think everyone should take a walk along the path just to see it. The directions are set for any viewer help.

Firestorm is my favorite viewer, so I was glad to see how helpful their classes are too along with the wonderful support help group. I learn so much just from listening to the answers to questions from other users. I applaud the effort the volunteers  put into making Firestorm so good.  http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Phoenix%20Firestorm%20Support/50/161/25

The First Sims – Taber

By DrFran Babcock

It has been a long time since I have explored the original sims, but the tenth birthday of Second Life™, and the annual Relay for Life both kept me very busy. Once all of that was over, I felt a letdown that was like the post-holiday blues, but I knew that I would find the spark again by going back to the past, and Taber is just the sim for memories, as you will read.

History of Taber

Taber is famous for being the home of Robin Linden—who joined Linden Lab in 2002, and for being the site of the first casino in Second Life™.  Ama Omega was the creator of this establishment, and his excellent scripting skills led him to go on to create a particle script that I still use to this day to make down and dirty effects. Ama Omega became a Linden, even though his casinos have left the mainland (well, at least they are supposed to be gone).

There is one historical piece of architecture on the island: The D’Ni Restoration, with prims that date from 2003. I believe it is from the game of Myst. It was built by Piprrr Godel, and it is owned by Avi Arrow, previously interviewed in these pages. She is a fan of Second Life™ history, and has done much to preserve its antiquities.

Who Lives Here? Justice League Unlimited (JLU) – League of Heroes

The Justice League has a parcel of land on Taber just to the west of the Ivory Tower Library of Primitives.

The JLU claims they are a benevolent organization designed to protect and help newcomers. They are influenced clearly by Superman, as their leader is named Kalel, and the radio station they operate is called Krypton Radio. However, I have never recently run into anyone from this group, nor do they seem to have had a team in the recent Relay for Life, although they have a Relay flag flying on their parcel.

Something about their Group Profile disturbed me: “We are a public service organization, helping those in need of aid, keeping a watchful eye while closely observing the Terms of Service.” I felt myself wondering if a group of residents had the right to take it upon themselves to protect the Terms of Service. Oh well, maybe I am being paranoid, but it seemed a little strange to me. If anyone knows anything about this, please contact the SL Newser.

There isn’t much to see at this build beyond an outside auditorium, that I have never seen occupied.

Who Lives Here? Odds and Ends

Taber from the air looks mostly unpopulated, and at sea level that seems to be the case. There are several parcels that make up the sim, but many of them are devoid of objects. There is a nice island for sale if you would like to own a piece of history. I would buy it myself, but don’t want to bump up to another tier level.

The Banana Land parcel sports a nice Japanese home and a sparse wooden dock, but barely anything else. Upon inspection, Will Guisse, whose profile is empty, owns it. There isn’t even furniture in the house. The parcel is large, and I wonder who would pay that kind of tier for a piece of land that is never used. Then it hit me, and I flew up until I found a skybox about 300 meters in the air.

The only other sizeable property on the land is the Fate Garden, a web of tree house-like structures that house a 7 Seas fishing area. It’s a pretty place, but otherwise unremarkable.

Who Lives Here? The Story of the FairChangs

The story of the FairChangs has everything: Love, history, tragedy, and staying power.  Pituca Chang and Garth Fairlight met in 2003 in  Second Life™, and quickly became a couple. They built a real estate and freebie empire together, married in Second Life™, and despite great geographic odds married in First Life. In fact, according to Pie Psaltary (thanks for the help, Pie!), the Lindens actually changed their last names to Fairchang, combining their two names into one.

This story, not an uncommon on in SL, has unfortunately a sad ending, in that Garth died of pancreatic cancer in September of 2009, leaving behind a mourning Pituca, and many other people whose lives he had touched. You can go to Taber and visit the memorial to Garth, which still stands. It is on a piece of land that holds some very old objects. The Tudor houses are from 2004, and were built by Jai Nomad. Residents from my era will remember the freebie Jai medieval textures, that I still use to this day, because they are that good. The memorial park also holds a windmill that was constructed by Garth himself. Two stone benches  are provided so that you can sit and meditate on love, Second Life™, and the meaning of life.

FREEBIES !!!!!

Of course, one can’t dwell in sadness forever, and free goodies are always an antidote for the realities of our daily existence. Close to the Taber memorial benches is a sign that provides a teleport to a whole area of free items provided by the FairChangs. Garth was still alive when he and Pituca decided to make all of their previously sold items free.  If you touch the sign in the memorial area, you can teleport to the sim of Calypso, enter the lighthouse and help yourself to many freebies. I suppose there have been no new creations in several years, but there are still items that bring a nostalgic joy, and are worth collecting, including houses and vehicles. I used their fly and return crows and bats on most of my builds over the years, because they add sound and interest.

Conclusion

Taber is worth a visit. It holds some of the oldest objects in Second Life™, and certainly its oldest love story.

Various SL10B Places

With the SL10B, there are a few hundred exhibits to see. That's quite a lot. There was no way I was going to see them all within a few days, so here's what I've seen so far.

The Relay For Life in Second Life exhibit, at SL10 Dazzle (153, 247, 22)

"The Behemoth," Created by Loki Eliot. This exhibit has gotten a bit of attention, including appearing in a machinima. It's been described as a metaphor for Second Life, and perhaps the Internet. It's advised you get the HUD at the bottom before climbing up. You get a few freebies along the way, including some avatars.

SL10B Wonderous ( 132, 48, 23)

And next door was the Team Firestorm plot, with it's Phoenix build.

The Astor Castle Hunt, with 14 freebies hidden in various objects around the place. This includes a copy of the castle according to the notecard, but I never could find that. It's located in SL10B Mesmerize (104, 83, 24)

The "Dogs on the Run" exhibit about air combat, with a Me262 jet from New Bastogne's JG52. SL10B Dazzle (122, 152, 21)

The Acorm2Oak PTSD Community, representing the Fearless Nation support group. On Thursday June 20th, they hold an event.  At SL10B Dazzle (175, 155, 21)

Mac Kanashimi 3D Mazes & Labyrinths, SL10B Dazzle (215, 175, 21)

Madpea Productions hat stack exhibit, at SL10B Dazzle (222, 112, 22)

Bear Island, where one can find copies of various Linden bears of the past, from the days whenever you met a Linden you could ask for a teddy bear. There are also the SLB bears, and one can find a build of the former Blue Linden, popular among many residents until he was booted in the great purge in 2010.

SL10B Bear Island (166, 166, 24)

These of course are just a few of the many sims. Come by to look at these, and more.

The First Sims: Minna

by DrFran Babcock

I couldn’t wait to visit Minna, because if you look at it on the map, it is the most colorful of the original sims. I was not disappointed. Minna is one of the first sims that has an active population, and lots to see and enjoy.

History of Minna

Minna began as a mostly commercial sim back in 2002. It was dominated by Divivity, a store that sold gifts, food, and nursery items. Divivity still has a presence on the sim, but it is dotted throughout the sim. What I loved about Minna is that is seems to be populated by old members and new members who have a love for and appreciation of the rich history of Second Life™.

Who Lives Here?

Paula Dix owns the land that has all the colorful trees on it. I knew immediately that they were the work of Second Life™ artist and queen of wild trees: soror Nishi. Paula’s land—she calls her parcel Paula’s Ploting (sic) Plan—is covered with the trees and particles, and is just a delight to visit. From Paula’s profile comes this statement with which I have always agreed: “There is no Second Life as opposed to First Life. SL is as real as FL We may be just pixels, but we  are  as real as anything. So live fully and be sure to assure that all can also live.” Nice.

Kennylex Luckless is someone I know, because he seems to be always around the Ivory Tower of Primitives on Natoma, building and giving away freebies, or at Linden Office Hours. He has a darling castle on Minna, that he told me he wanted to remove, but ANSI Soderstrom told him he could not. I was able to ask him a very, very few questions before his Natoma fan club distracted him:

SL Newser: Kenny, how did you find out about Second Life™?

KennyLex: Oh, newspaper, it was a article about Second House of Sweden. (Kenny is from Sweden) The sim closed because there were complaints.

When I did log in, I found Natoma and the Ivory tower, and fell in love with building things. So, I stayed. I am mostly here (Ivory Tower), Luskwood, Bay City and at Torley’s Place. Although, Torley’s old place here was much funnier.

Kennylex gave me a vehicle made out of old barrels that he made, we rode around Natoma for a while. I returned to my explorations.

ANSI Soderstrom has a lot of land on Minna, and a sense of humor. Her cel-shaded ANSI-wood build, a play on the Hollywood Hills, is like an anime hobbit village. However, she is also the creator of Port Ansi, a complex-looking brick building that holds tons of freebies built by Kennylex Luckless. Kennylex’s freebies are fun, and often he includes the textures he used in them so that you can mod what you take.

Blogging acquaintance and SL Universe forum member Elysium Hynes owns 736 square meters of land, and purple trunked trees. It hugs a water edge, and is filled with pretty chairs and tables for hanging out. I wonder if she ever spends time there?

These three residents hail from 2007 or later, but there are also members who are much older with parcels on Minna. Dave Zeeman has a not very pretty build, of which he seems very proud:  “This is Dave Zeeman's original home!  He's had it ever since Beta v0.3.2!  Check out the classic "Matrix Box" and world renowned Plinko game!  Also the site of any "Match Game SL" shows!” So, Dave is one of the original members, but from the look of his parcel he has not been around for some time.

Emmaly Baxton (2008) has the Minna Sky Complex, a poured concrete series of elevated lookouts that provide a place to view the original sims. Her land seems to be part of Dave Zeeman’s, and is a somewhat modern and grungy structure. Although I didn’t speak with her, I did see her on the sim during one of my research visits.

Another oldbie is Div Epoch, a Charter Member, who will become 10 years old around the time that Second Life™ does. Has an old-school house, very minimally furnished on northwest corner of Minna.

And, then there’s Vivianne OFlynn, who is almost ten years old, and owns Divivity’s food and celebrations supplies. I suppose she is still around, because there were prims from 2013 with Mother’s day items. According to the Second Life™ Wiki, Divivity was most of the sim of Minna at one time. Now, there was only the celebration shop, and another parcel with garden items.

Of interest to me, from a historical standpoint was the Sacred Ground Druid Circle that Simon Metalhead, a Beta Member established in  September 2003 I imagine it was meant to hold larger crowds as it spans the corners of Minna, Ritch, Zoe, and Natoma. Again, I have to wonder if people still use it. I hope it remains, because it is from the earliest days of Second Life™.

A very new addition to the sim is from four year old Carol Pixelmaid. Virtually Gorgeous is a tiny shop with some pretty old-school lingerie and dresses for ladies. It has a nice grass covered lookout on the property with free binoculars and pose balls for viewing the beauty of Minna.

For Sale
Would you like to live on Minna? There is one tiny landlocked plot, L-shaped and narrow that is for sale for 35,998 Lindens. Sounds a bit steep for me, but you may be a lover of history.

Winter Fun at Areo Pines and Wolf Mountain

 By Gemma Cleanslate

The Sixth Annual Winter Festival, which runs from December 1 through January 31, at Aero Pines is now open.  I am happy to tell you that the skating rink is busy and the winter decorations are all in place. This is a great region to visit and you can pick up some really nice free skating outfits or shop for some before you venture out on the ice. I kept mine from last year, but picked up a chinchilla coat to add to my collection.  http://slurl.com/secondlife/Equus/42/188/23  It is right next to the skating pond.

Cindy Bolero has so many events prepared for the two months that you can find on the festival brochure you will get. While you skate, you can watch the Nutcracker Ballet on the super screen and join in on the pose balls. One of the free outfits is a white ballet dress with tutu.  It is delightful. Here you may also take a cross country ski tour on eight sims, take a ride in the sleigh, and more. All directions to help you are on the brochure. It is always such fun to visit these sims any time of year, but winter is special. Anyone is always welcome here. The whistling snowman will greet you.

I guess I have a lot of favorite places to ski and skate. My next favorite I have been visiting for 5 years, not only in the winter. Wolf Mountain Ski Resort has everything you want or need for winter activities. Here you can pick up a guide to activities and landmarks to help you get around. The lodge is so inviting that you will want to spend some time in there where you can sit by the fire, or take a dip in the indoor pool. I love the trip up the mountain on the ski lift and then coming down on skis or sled.

You will find free skies at the top, or rezz a sled for you and your friends.  http://slurl.com/secondlife/WolfMountainResort/54/44/33 . There are so many wonderful spots at both these recreation regions you can spend all winter visiting and finding new activities to try. I never tire of visiting either place. Enjoy. Look for more soon.

Christmas Around the World

by DrFran Babcock

What’s better than Christmas decorations, holiday traditions, food, and freebies? Probably, you can add to this list, but this pretty much covers it for me. All you need is a few good friends or a will to explore to go explore Christmas Around the World (http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Irish%20Tropical%20Escapes/11/168/26 ).  This is such a good idea, because Second Life is the place where you can learn about people all over the world, and cultural diversity is celebrated and encouraged.

The best part about Christmas Around the World is that it’s not just a place to learn about how 30 other countries celebrate Christmas. It is also a place to see some of the best animated figures in Second Life, photo opportunity spots for your holiday snapshots, a place to shop for holiday items, a place to go ice skating, and a place to find some great freebies.

However, the real purpose of the sim is to give the visitor an idea of the variety of holiday celebrations. The different continents or areas are housed in charming cottages that encircle the ice skating rink. If you go inside any of these you can collect notecards with detailed explanations of the customs of different areas, and a whole collection of recipes from all over the world. There are houses for Africa, Europe, the United States, Slovakia, South America, and more. Chanukah customs and recipes are in the United States cottage. In addition there is a Santa’s Workshop, and the home of the sim owners to explore. The quality of the animated bots alone makes a visit worthwhile. Every direction in which I turned I thought: Oooh, what a great picture this would make. You will have no trouble finding a great place for a pose, if you send out Second Life Holiday cards,

Christmas Around the World is the work of Brendan Macarthur and Raegis Arrowmint, who open their home to you for this occasion, and with the help from many other people.

So, how is Christmas celebrated in Ethiopia? According to some of the information on the notecard I received at the African Cottage, Christmas is celebrated on January 7th, and is called: Ye Ganna Bal (The Birth of Christ). Families go to church, play games, get practical gifts like clothing, and eat a stew called: Doro Wat and flatbreads. Another celebrations take place after this, on January 19th, called Timkat, which involves a procession, drums, and honoring of the baptism of Christ.  My summary here is only a small portion of the information on the notecard.  Each notecard ends with more notecards filled with recipes from different cultures. For example, the Slovak notecard has a recipe for Deep-Fried Carp. Maybe not one I would try, but interesting anyway.

Don’t miss this great build, and chance to learn and play. Come to Christmas Around the World and get multi-cultural.

Veselé Vianoce, or Merry Christmas in Slovak!

NOTE: The white dress I am wearing in the photo (left) is available FREE on the Marketplace: https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/2012-GIFT-MOTHER-CHRISTMAS-2012-CHRISTMAS-GIFT/4206698 .

The Corner of Revolving Time Celebrates

There are big doings in the Ophelia region for the next few months. This is the home of the Corner of Revolving Time, owned and operated by Vickijo Rivera. Vickijo has a cadre of designers who donate wonderful freebies that you can collect. The Corner of Revolving Time has always been one of my most favorite places in Second Life.

In this region, the Corner freebies shop right now  is filled with wonderful furniture,  rooms and rooms of it!  On the wall of the second floor you will find ten free houses that fit various size plots . They are amazing! Aside from the furniture you can find cards, cakes, other foods, balloons,  and decor for a great rezzday or birthday party. There is a raffle going on for members of the Corner of Revolving time group and have the Corner in their picks. If you join you can enter to  win 2500L every week and/or 2500 towards land purchase or rental from The Corner Estates.  Every holiday the Corner features free decor to match the day.

My first experience when I wrote about the original location at Christmas time for the SL Newspaper and met Vickijo. That was way back in December of 2007 when I was amazed at all the fine Christmas trees, bulbs, banners, santas and more that were set out for the taking, all for free! From that time on I have been proud to be associated with the Corner as it moved from region to region at various times. Back in the “olden days” of SL I also camped at the Corner. I fished a lot at the Corner, and finally became a fishing hostess over 3 years ago.

Right now there are contests held at the Corner every day and on most days there are two contests, morning and afternoon SL times. Fishing at the corner has always been fun. Besides the 7seas fishing bounties there are always prime customs to catch. There are first catch custom bounties that can be redeemed for 1000L.There are level up and Hall of Fame rods too.  At the fishing site right now there is another raffle board that will allow you to enter daily for a 1000L drawing held  every Monday night. Just wear the tag and have it in your picks. This raffle will go on for three months until the actual anniversary date, November 5, and perhaps after. There are more specials to come at the fishing area.

There is also a new mall in the region and a great train ride around a park area. Qwark Allen hosts a party every week in the Corner Virtual Club, where I host for him. It is a great place to hang out and use the icons to change the scenes on the walls to take you all around the world and into space.

Some people set their home to The Corner where Vickijo has always welcomed everyone. Of the Corner she says, ”Each of us has a special talent in this world and this group is for both creators and for those that just 'dig in the dirt' and enjoy anothers' gifts that give freely. Our future is immeasurable as other places are found abandoned, places we used to go became war zones, and all who are restless will first appear here as a stranger but leave a friend.  Amor Fati! (love of fate).”  That is the tag of group members.

You will find TP pads on the ground to help you move around the sim or just take a walk and admire the pleasant surroundings. http://slurl.com/secondlife/Ophelia/68/17/26 this is the fishing area, and if you are looking for the terrific freebies and the raffle  start here http://slurl.com/secondlife/Ophelia/191/195/22.
