Let's take some time to raise awareness and reflect on some of the many significant, life changing, innovative achievements, and contributions made by African Americans that have significantly impacted the world.
Learn about some of the many contributions and achievements by black people that has shaped our world and changed the way that we ALL live.

MUSEUM HOURS: OPEN DAILY 24/7
Black History is American History!  Black History is World History!
Black History is Global History with a Global Impact!
Black History is OUR history!

The museum honored a number of Black Americans. There were a number of musicians mentioned going back for over a century.

But that was far from all. There were also scientists, mathematicians, inventors, surgeons, and others. The list of names went back over a century.

There were a number from the modern civil rights movement, honored.

Most notable was Martin Luther King Jr, whom had a statue outside the museum, made and donated by a sponsor of the PBC. Martin Luther King Day has been a Federal holiday in the US since 1986.

There was also an explanation of the holiday Juneteenth, commemorating the end of slavery in the United States on June 19, 1865. It was recognized as a Federal holiday in 2021.

Also honored were astronauts, politicians, and statesmen, such as Barack H. Obama, America's 44th President.

Although it was open to all at the start of the month, the Grand Opening party waited until Sunday February 8.

The event started at Noon SL time and went on to 7PM SL time, with a number of DJs.

There were a variety of outfits.

 And avatars.

February is almost over, so there may not be much longer to see the Black History Museum.

Black History Month at the PBC And Health Island Heart Health

By Gemma Cleanslate

While my computer was at the “Spa” I had several places I wanted to let you know about to visit so combining them here before the short month of February gets away from us.

Here is the USA we are commemorating a part of history that was not integrated for many years. It is Black History month. One of the most complete stories is over at the Premier Business Center in the Cultural Arts Center. Jardinalexis went to school on the subject and has it all on display on the two floors.

As you walk around you can bring up a myriad of slideshows about various events, people and topics of interest. As you wander the lower floor as you touch and learn you will hear the song of Andra day, Rise up. I found the background of taking a knee at ball games most interesting. The history is under the lovely statue. Next to the statue on the left you will see Dancerina Starlight’s interview of Jardinalexis in last year’s Sl Newser . Click it .

On the upper level you will find a guided tour of posters about the many events and people involved in the culture . Follow the arrow and you will have a wealth of information to read . I know you will have to go back more than once to get it all in. I have been trying for years!

There will be an event this Sunday to which you are all invited .

While we were talking hearts and love and candy for the past month it reminded my that we need to take care of our hearts and Health Island this month had an array of informative posters to help. There are so many things that can go wrong with the heart and here is a collection of information about the various diseases and resources to help deal with them.

There are several exhibit centers to visit with information ans resources about Heart Attack,

Congestive Heart Failure, Atrial Fibrillation, Angina and more. You can start here at Atrial Fibrillation

The PBC's Voting Registration And Fall Arrives at Yosemite

By Gemma Cleanslate

The Premier Business Center is hosting a voting educational event through mid October. This is to prepare US citizens to register to vote in the November election and how it all works. I stopped over to check out the venue and there is loads of information available. All citizens are invited to come and get the free information and ask questions if you need.

Events are taking place also on various evenings. JardinAlexis says all are welcome to come participate regardless of intended affiliation of party or independent status. Better hurry over though in some states registration deadlines are coming fast!! Check out the map on the wall and click on the stars . look around at various posters and get more information.

I also took a tour over at Yosemite this weekend to check out the autumn arrival. The park looks lovely with the gold and yellows in the trees and grasses. It is a wonderful place to take a horseback ride, or just walk the many trails on the property.

The link below will put you inside the Visitors Center . Gifts on the wall! I hope you grab the great winter outfit on the wall in the Center! Pick up the explorers hud to help you get around when looking for a certain destination.

I decided to take a walk on the trails and ran into a couple of cub bears wandering about.

I finally saw the mama coming my way and moved on fast! This is a great place to bring friends or family for a week or even for just the weekend. The prices are right . Enjoy horseback riding and other activities on the region anytime.

I had not seen the new wedding and other event Chapel near the Center but got a good look at it . All group members are invited to use it for ceremonies . It seats 48 ! It is also a charming place to just sit and meditate. You can contact Jadin if you have questions.

Some of the campers have put out pumpkins and other fall décor on their camp site. Try the wall climbing on the side of the Visitor Center after you pick up the free items and information inside. There is a wonderful group however and Jaden Emerald is overly generous with gifts at random times . Casual visitors are welcome however so drop over and use the public facilities. There are often Rangers around to help also.

Black History Month Exhibition At The PBC Cultural Arts Center

By Gemma Cleanslate

As we know February is designated as Black History Month in the United states. Though this history is part of world history in the past it was not integrated as it should be so this is a month to recognize that fact.

Jardinalexis, owner of the Premier Business Center has been putting an enormous amount of time into setting up an extensive history in the PBC Cultural Arts Center. It is for this month of remembering but she told me it will remain as a permanent “museum” with additions to come. This year is concentrated on the African Americans and the Arts.

Sunday, February 2 was the official opening of the museum display. There was a gathering with music of DJ LadySqueeze. Dancerina Starlight provided a lovely performance of her own choreographed dance. All had a marvelous time. I did get a chance to see some of the exhibits but went back Monday to really take a good look at it all. It is amazing.

On the main floor one can see a dedication to the Visual Arts on posters. The display of all the wonderful black artists that have contributed to the Arts scene in America is lovely. 50 of the great musicians is displayed on the walls. Most of them had an effect of the music of many decades of music in America and the world. It is good to see them all in one place to remember this.

On the upper floor one finds a time line celebrating the Civil Rights movement with photographs of the time along with a wonderful written history of what and when and where events took place over the long struggle for recognition. Many people contributed to the cause over those years and you can see them all here. Quite a few were artists that are on display downstairs. The explanation of their contributions is documented here too. Plan time to read it all. There will be another event to celebrate February 18 from 2:00 to 4:00.

I did have a chance to drop over to Bay City for Mole Day too. I was late but did make it to part of party. Chronos Mole was still there enjoying the music and dance . Mole Day has been in existence for many years to give recognition to all the Moles who take care of the infrastructure of the whole grid. They are terrific !
