Tiny Yosemite
By Gemma Cleanslate
When Jadyn Firehawk sorted all the free items she set out for comfort in her popup store (story link), she realized that more than 200 members of the Yosemite Group had remained steady all this time since the regions were taken down last year. I guess this brought back so many wonderful memories of the old Little Yosemite .
Nostalgia brought into being her latest endeavor and she sent out this notice, “Hi Everyone! I'm SOOOO excited to announce that Yosemite is back! It's a new and different incarnation ... It's Tiny Yosemite! You'll find that it captures the look and feel of the real Yosemite National Park. Come and see for yourself. It's the biggest little place in SL. See you in Yosemite!”
Fleegle Mumblewood was relaxing on a rock ledge by the beautiful falls when I arrived. As you come in look all around at the wonderful tall mountains and trees. The glistening falls bring rushing water over the rocks below that is so clear and lovely. Pick up the knapsack by the sign so you will have all the goodies you will need for a comfortable stay.
There are several camping sites for daily rental and they were all filled up at a very inexpensive price. I sat down by the fire at one of them and had a cup of coffee since it was available.
Jadyn has placed a lovely fireplace with comfy chairs and books by Muir on table . Near by is a lovely dining area all set for a party. It is a great place to invite guests to join you at the table.
Behind the OWL Camp site you will find a rock climbing area that takes you up to the top of the mountains. Take a walk around the perimeter .. it is fun to look down over the whole site. It may be tiny but the memories and spirit of the old Little Yosemite are there and it is a relaxing place to visit especially in this time of stress in the world. I know all the members of the group are thrilled and bringing friends to visit too.

New Santorini
by Gemma Cleanslate
“Our much loved 'little Greek village' on the hill ,,. lost since 2014 rises once again from the sea as Calas Galadhon's NEW SANTORINI along with The Lost Gardens of Thera and a new live music venue 'PHOENIX"!’
Calas Galadhon Park is a group of enjoyable sims open to all visitors. The collection of sims used to be more extensive than it is now even though there were never any commercial interests in any of the sims. The two owners, Ty Tenk (Tymus Tenk) and Truck (Truck Meredith) never charged or even asked for lindens for many years. Finally when some sims had to disappear they allowed donations kiosks to appear to keep as many as they could. If you have never visited their sims you are missing a wonderful Second Life experience. The activities are numerous. My favorite has always been riding my horse since one can move from sim to sim so easily and the venues are delightful. There are horse rezzers on some of the sims if you don’t have one of your own. Check out their website for information , videos and activities. https://calasgaladhon.com/
“The original Santorini village stood on the hill above the Armenelos region of the Calas Galadhon Park from early 2011 until Dec 2014.”
Right now there is an opportunity to visit one of the lost sims, New Santorini. For views It was always one of my favorite to visit. It is absolutely gorgeous. It is back for a time so don’t miss the chance to take a boat ride on the bay . Climb the high hill and visit the quaint homes along the winding walkways. Sit on a patio at a Greek bar, have some wine and enjoy the view looking down on the waters in the sunset.
Then descend beneath the waters to discover the magic of the scenery below. in The Lost Gardens of Thera. An underwater walk or swim in the stunning venue only adds to the charm.
I found a couple taking advantage of the dance floor dancing to the enchanting music, There are dances there almost every night for members and visitors. Everyone is always welcome at Calas.
It is such a charming setting for lovers and friends to explore . Go visit before it sinks again into the sea It will be there through July at least. ‘Be sure to turn on Advanced Lighting Model, Music and Sounds to experience the build the way we designed it for you” the owners caution.

The SS Galaxy Returns: Part Two
By Gemma Cleanslate
What an unexpected fun afternoon I had Thursday. I went out to see the Galaxy in its new place in the oceans. There was a great crowd in the midsection celebrating the return. Lots of Lindens and moles there gathered to enjoy the ship. Shamen Linden was serving cocktails at the bar. Frost Mole was also there along with Guy, Xiola, Patch Linden. Michael Linden was entertaining with all sort of fun items like falling sharks, furniture fling, trains passing and time pieces. He put out a rocket and somehow I was caught up in it and taken thousands of meters into the sky then dropped to the bottom of the ocean. Ruined my hairdo!
There was also a gathering of media people checking out the goings on. Daniel Voyager was there as a rabbit instead of his usual owl, Inara Pey sitting at the bar, Marianne Mccann ready to go into the pool and more. It was fun. I plan to try to sail over to the ship in the next few days and wander through with memories as I go. The ship is there but is still a work in progress as additions will be made in the future but be sure to go visit. Those of you who know the Galaxy will love it. Those who do not will be awed by a ship that fills three sims!!!!!
Years ago, about seven I think, I first discovered this massive ship in the Second Life oceans. We inspected the ship from stem to stern over months of visits. I learned to play miniature golf and hope it comes back. We played games on the deck and rode bikes around. There were shops and art galleries with changing exhibits. The swimming pool was a great place to just lounge and talk. I went to many 7seas fishing contests on board. A friend of mine lived there for a while and we enjoyed visiting. I loved the Ports of call that were posted and found places to explore for my articles. I wrote about the big move when the whole ship was moved to new sims. So many good memories. I hope you will have some too.
This link will bring you to an entrance to the reservations desk though no one is on duty . Before I left I checked to see if the spa is still there and tried the treadmill.. Lots to explore!! Much thanks to the Preservation Group!
