Yosemite in Winter

By Gemma Cleanslate

The snow fell in Yosemite and the ground and mountains are covered. I went over to see the beauty of it . You will want to stop in the Visitor Center and pick up a Yosemite Park Navigator Hud.Then I suggest you take a walk around the paths to see what is going on. Or , you may want to pick a horse to take you for a ride instead. I did run into a Mama bear and two cubs wandering so keep an eye tho she seems calm when avatars come by. A cute skating rink is ready with free skates if you do not bring your own.

When I left the center I saw Santa practicing climbing on the rock wall behind the building.

Some campers have arrived for the winter holiday and fires were burning to keep them warm. The playground is open and kids were playing. Lots of families visit Yosemite at this time. There are so many places to play on this region.

After visiting that area I recommend opening the hud and choosing Glacier.Pass. to visit. Up here again there are some cute cabins for rental .

The ski lift is open and there is a coffee stop at the bottom so refresh before you start down the hill again. If you prefer a sled ride that is available also. Visitors are always welcome at Yosemite even if you are not renting or camping so feel free to visit. The hud lets you get a look at many other areas there. Have fun!

Yosimite in Spring

By Gemma Cleanslate

Yosemite spring 001 - I also took a side trip over to Yosemite to see the beautiful spring flowers and take a horseback ride as usual. It is definitely spring there now. I saw a mother bear and a cub in the distance but turned back quickly and quietly. The horses are out in the corral. There is a good map nearby that shows the loop for riding along the water area and through the forest trails.

Camping is open and the kiddie playground waiting for visitors. The lovely B&Bs have become very popular she told me. Check those out.

My main reason for going was to see the marvelous new year round ski area that Jadin Emerald has installed up in the mountains, Forever Wild. It is wonderful and offers a choice of camping down on the spring area and going up for a ski trip for a day, or I see cute igloo tents(domes) for rent up there and even a few cabins if the family wants to stay a weekend or a week or more. There are free skis and also sleds provided and I found a high long ski slope and a lower one down below also. At the bottom is a tent set up with food and drink a chairs to relax for a while before taking the lifts up to come down again. What a treat for those who miss the cold snowy hills during the spring and summer. I never skied in real life so I enjoy the SL opportunity. I have to get out my ski outfit!

Not only that but you will find a sauna and a hot tub waiting for the after ski.

If you don’t have a navigator hud for the regions they are available when you arrive. It is all available to the residents and the visitors who frequent Yosemite. I got a photo of Jadin and a Yosemite resident and me trying the winter fishing hole.

What a terrific Lodge Jadin has installed. There is a dining area with a choice of food and drinks, a lounge and a gift shop with the lovely geodes at only 5L each that I could not resist. Some of the items in the shop are free.

Upstairs there are three lovely suites for rent at only 50L a night for skiers or those who need the winter views and skip skiing. It is a wonderful place to spend a few days. She is not finished yet though. I see more construction still going on. This is the entrance at the new area where you can find a Navigator and try the ski slopes.

Adagio Winterland

By Gemma Cleanslate

Winter time is a great time to visit the beautiful and fun regions that feature winter as an “art “and ‘sport” in Second Life. One of my favorite sites is Adagio Winterland. Though Adagio is multifaceted with several locations reached by a teleport board, I love this one. One thing I love about it is that it is here all year long so if you get the yen to ice skate in May or September you can. If you just yearn to see snowflakes they are falling all the time. I know some Aussies who love it for the weather and snow during their winter in real-life and want them here too. They also have “almost Karaoke” three times every week.

A small skating area is near the entrance but there is also a huge skating rink over behind the train. Couples and singles can enjoy the skate balls on free skates or bring your own skates or AO . One can also purchase some fancy skates near the entrance too.

I advise if you have time take the balloon ride first. You get a wonderful overview of all the relaxing spots and places to stop while exploring on horseback or foot. There is a horse rezzer near the entrance on the ice near the free skates and also next to the train. The balloon ride gives a little history of the winter region.

“Winterland began when Bekks - a photographer and scene designer in SL - set up a patch of snow, gazebo, a snowman and a log for a winter scene. Loving the idea of a peaceful winter area, it expanded over time with a skating rink and a stage for our weekly karaoke. Homes were added joined by a snowy path, and Winterland became a destination for explorers and photographers. With the Surround and Bekks' meticulous eye for detail, the illusion of a real-life snowy village in the mountains is nearly perfect.” All true.

Little winter cottages dot the area if you would like to rent for a vacation, long or short. Christmas in July can be all year long if you like. There are beautiful snowflakes drifting down enhancing your visit. On the nearby ice families with kiddies will love the three carousels to ride.

A little farther along in the woods stands a small church. Thinking about getting married in the snow? Here is your chance. There is a lovely Cinderella coach on the lane that I assume is to take the bride to the church. I will bet Adagio has the perfect spot for the reception on another region.

There are more sports opportunities besides skating and horseback riding. Try the sledding , or snowmoble riding, and look for the bungee jumping and zip line. If you visit with friends check out the snowball fight game near the balloon ride too .Lots of fun!

Bekks Heartsong is the owner of this fantastic region. There is information on the rental information card. Pick that up at the entrance. Group members have lots of advantage, You will love this place.

Yosemite in Summer 2022

By Gemma Cleanslate

Some years back I dropped into Yosemite and fell in love with it. I wrote several articles about the region as time passed. Jadyn Firehawk was the owner and maintained it, adding and changing as time went on. She so loved the real Yosemite National Park that she wanted it as close as possible to the real one. Due to health issues Jadyn had to close it which was very sad for everyone. She took time to recover and came back to find so many of her members had remained loyal in the group. Eventually she felt strong enough to open Little Yosemite and that was welcomed by many past members of the group who kept hoping for the return of Yosemite I had a camping site there last year which I wrote about. It was restful and fun.

Jadin Emerald, who is Jadyn Firehawk, came across a very lovely surround called Yosemite created by Som (Sominel Edelman)m who does beautiful landscapes and fell in love with it, finding it very close to the view of the real Yosemite and so we have a whole new region, Yosemite. She has been building and changing as usual but it is mostly ready for you all to visit. Again she has lots of fun activities for you to use, little relaxing places along the river for you to visit with your friend or your honey. Members of the group can hold weddings there at the Mariposa Pavilion In the forest.

Horseback riding is encouraged and there is a corral full of horses to chose from. Take the trails with your horse or go through the Muir Forest. You can just leave the horse where you are when you are finished, and they go home by themselves. If I find one I usually take it home to the corral. I think there may be more  different horses coming.

If you are not into horses grab a bicycle. I am not that good on these bikes and usually end up in some creek of the lake. I need to practice! Look at that field of blue and red wildflowers!! I did run over some.

You can go take a great swim in the lake if you like and actually swim off the region. It is fun or take a ride on the jetski and do the same trick or try a quiet kayak ride .

I love the little play park area where the kids can play on swings or teeter totter. I found a dad, Travis Helix (Tbone Helix), with his two kids, Stephanie Bravin (XDaOneX Resident) and Artfaol StJohn (Artfaol Resident). They all said they loved Yosemite and were having lots of fun in the park.

Take the trail around the perimeter and see various places to relax. Fire pits are popular. You will see tents along the shore that can be rented at an extraordinary low price and 50prims to use I keep one there that I can visit or invite a friend over for a cookout and some wine or sit down quietly to write an article.. There are small cabins along the trail too. In one spot there are tents for use for one or two nights, again, at a very low price. She even has a classroom for those who might want a presentation .
Once on the old Yosemite she hosted a group of girl scouts for their project which was a lot of fun I recall.

Up on one of the other levels are tree houses that are very popular. I went up to visit my friend, Heather Kenin (Heather Wainwright), who has one there and though she maintains a home on Bellisseria she says she loves the tree house so much she spends a lot of time there. There are choices of other rentals which you can find out about at the region. Here is the rental office where you can see all the varieties of rents available and pick up a hud for visiting the rentals and another for getting around the whole region easily. If you would like to see the old Yosemite region there are pictures of it at that rental center. http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Yosemite/136/60/841

Jadin is usually there to help with any questions or her friendly Park Ranger, Raini(Rainidaize) will help. She loves to talk to people. I am a volunteer there and if you im me I can help too. Jadin has made a that great hud for getting around but I advise walk the region and discover the wild life and loveliness for yourself. There are posters you can pick up and other gifts at the Visitor Center from Jadin. Grab a baseball hat. Climb the stairs too for more information.

Climb to the top and stay for dinner at her tables. Lots of history of Yosemite there and a wonderful view. She will be opening her store again soon where she has very lovely items for sale all made by her. Join the group if you would like to keep up on what is new and going on if you like. Visit and enjoy! Maybe you will move in or rent a camp site for relaxation.

Here is the visitor center. http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Yosemite/151/74/22

Jadin had her Nature store ready!

Templeton Cove

By Gemma Cleanslate

I went over to visit my friend Jadyn Firehawk of P2P  at her new beach home that she is renting in Templeton Cove Estates. It is cozy and on a dock at the Marina Boatslip Cottages. I  found myself in a sim that is one of 16 regions, land and water. It is a wilderness themed estate with some special areas just for residents but so many sites open to guests and visitors so I grabbed a Guide Book and set out to explore in the next few day.I see they have camping areas too.

The riding trails are extensive and extend through the country side from sim to sim. Rezz a horse at the farm if you don’t have your own. There is good signage to guide you . Farms and homes are visible as you ride and you pass some lovely points of interest, like the Sister’s Walk, along the way.

Unity Park is a delightful place to stop and you can rezz a bike if the horse is tired.
The Templeton Guide book holds all the landmarks for points of interest in the regions.

I suggest a ride in the hot air balloon to get a wonderful overview of the area. You have three options for balloon routes or do all three. It is a terrific look at the various regions.

The lighthouse on the high cliff above the balloon tour is a great way to get a good look at everything if time is short. Climb to the top and look out to the distant lands.

I stopped off at the Lake House where there was an early morning party going on and everyone was enjoying the music and dancing.

At the beach I tried out a ride on a sail board that ended in disaster but was fun.

I stopped in at the Gallery there and found the results of a photo contest that was held during the summer on display. Lots of lovely pieces won prizes and recognition.

I also tried white water in a kayak and managed to survive that. I saw that one can rezz bumper boats there too so bring a friend!

I found these sims a delightful place to visit. According to residents I met it is a great place to live too with lively activities for the residents and guests and special areas made just for them . Visit and explore and perhaps stay a while as a resident. The choice of homes is abundant in all the different neighborhoods .

Antiquity

By Becky "Sha" Shamen

During our time as a Newser Reporter, we have explored many areas of the Second Life Grid. Our writing style was strongly influenced by a movie seen in childhood. Bambi's friend, Thumper, was told, by his mom, "If you can't find anything nice to say about somebody, don't say anything at all." When we hear of a possible location to write about, our first trip there is a short visit, to get an intuitive feeling of the land and it's residents. Intuition is hard to put into words, but within a half hour one of two thoughts will enter our mind. It's either, "I can't wait to tell readers about this adventure," or "there's no story here."

If you were to put all of the sims in the grid together, it would form a square of 610 square miles. By comparison, a single sim is only about .39 sq.mi. and there are currently 24229 active sims on the grid. So, how does this reporter find these small areas that are fun adventures, in such a big world? Newser staff meets once a month and the Editor, Bixyl Shuften, usually provides leads to potential sims. Another source is the Destination Guide, but this can be hit or miss when looking for a fun place, and Sha has frequently wondered how much the sim owner had to pay to get a mention in the guide. One of our favorite search techniques is to open the World Map and pan and zoom around the grid. We look for sim clusters which suggest community minded residents. The layout of the terrain, streets and buildings will give us an idea of the level of the ideal and practical skills that have developed in these communities.

Studying the map, we found a 13 sim cluster. Each of the sim names began with "Antiquity" and there were massive buildings on many of them. We knew, before ever setting foot there, this would be a Great Adventure.

We select an open field on the North Western sim. The landing puts us at the foot of Mount St. Bruno, so we climb to the top for a better view of the country to be explored. There is a gathering spot on the top of the mountain; a clue that the natives might be friendly. From up here, it is clear that it will require several visits just to get a look at everything, so we start walking South, with plans of zig-zagging through all 13 sims.

As our exploration began, we notice there is another person about 2000 meters up, showing up on radar. Minutes later, this same individual sent an instant-message, which was very unusual. She said that she had seen our name on her radar and it seemed to be a name that she was familiar with. After thinking a bit, she recalled that it was the name of her favorite Newser Reporter, who had inspired her to go on many new adventures of her own. We continued chatting, while taking notes in the buildings that Sha was inspecting. Then the message sender informed us that she was a local resident, named Cosette Rouages, who's job was to write scripts, used in the builds. She was very excited that her favorite reporter was there to do an article about Antiquity. After a bit more chat, she invited us for a look at "the other half" of Antiquity.

It turns out, at the 2000m altitude, the sky platforms cover the entire 13 sims. A TP up and we spent hours talking and becoming friends. She also wanted to arrange for a private tour, with the owner of all the sims, Jacon Cortes de Bexar. Both of us live in the same real-life time zone and as 4:30 am rolled around, we agreed to meet again, soon. It would be necessary to return several more times, to take in all there is to see and do.

There hadn't been many notes or pictures taken, on the first visit, but that is par for the course.  The plan now was to attend an event at Cutlass and head back to Antiquity after. As we came on line to prepare for the evening's events, there was already an IM waiting to be read. This time, it was from the owner, Jacon Bexar. Cosette had told him all about our meeting and he wanted me to come for a private tour. As soon as my event was over, we headed back to our original LM  in Antiquity. After landing, Cosette appeared on radar, at ground level, standing in a small group.  The welcome committee was made up of Jacon, Cosette and two other Ladies.

After introductions and other pleasantries, Jacon would TP the group to his latest master build, a scale replica of Buckingham Palace. To date, this build has taken three and a half years and even every texture is from the real palace. Through out the tour, there are easels set up, with photos of the original. Jacon says, be sure to look up at the ceilings in each room. Each is a unique work of art. We told Jacon that the most difficult part about writing an article on Antiquity would be to avoid starting every sentence with OMG or WOW. When our readers visit Antiquity for themselves, they can wear out their own list of expletives.

Back at ground level, I traveled to all the sims and took lots of pictures. Since this is an article and not a book, it will include some photos and brief comments. If space is limited for the article, the full length original and all the photos can be found at shaadventures.blogspot.com

The Antiquity Cathedral made me a bit nervous, because there is an autobot (the sim's name for bots that respond to you, not the cartoon robots) cardinal at the altar and he kept turning in her direction. I eventually got the courage to stand in front of him and explain, to the empty pews, her theory that god is a cyclops.

In the Royal Antiquity Theater, I took a seat in the balcony. I wonder if it would be giving my age away, if I said, as kids we went to movies in theaters as fancy as this one.

One shop sold a collection of "autobots," in period clothing. Many have a menu. I was tempted to go back and buy a maid that offers a glass of wine and a list of other services.

A harbor in the Argyle sim could be your next SL job, if ye be Pirate Friendly. Arrrrr!

Standing under the dome of the Texas State capital building, I recalled seeing a movie with Burt Reynolds standing in the same spot.

I paused in a Texas one room school house, brushing up on Texas history and spitball making.

There are groups to join, like for Export Import Co., a pirate group and an Equine group. On the Marie Galante sim, there is even a large area for Merfolk.

I rode my own horse on the trails that cover several of the Eastern sims. I have an AKK horse and now have a great place to take him on walks.

They have monthly horse events, like cross-country, fox hunt and chariot racing.

Having made videos in Second Life, I couldn't help but notice, everywhere I went, the beautiful scenery all looked like perfect backgrounds for new SL videos. I loved the various music streams that are encountered. They were soothing and energizing. The few highlight given above are less than half of the list of noteworthy places. By all means, Antiquity goes on my list of "Must See" locations.
We bid ye to have a Great Adventure in Antiquity,
Sha

The Grand Canyon

By Britty Bee

The Grand Canyon transports you to an adventurous oasis with thrills around every corner. Towering canyons surround you, where even a yodel can cause an avalanche! Rope climb along a cliff, bungee jump from the top of the canyon, or hand gland across the plains. A romantic hot air balloon ride will set the mood as you float through the scenic views of the canyon, with two different tours to take. Accelerate over hills on a motor bike, fly a helicopter across the sky, or parachute if you dare!

The Grand Canyon is the perfect spot to relax and take in the scenery. Complete with peaceful waterfalls and wildlife, this sim offers a complete camping experience. Choose from a small tent, rustic cabin, or even a towering tree house, and enjoy a great time with that special someone or group of friends. Take a horseback ride through the wild or deep into the canyons to really take in the picturesque views. Along the river sit canoes or a small boat to sail down through the roaring rapids. Looking for that perfect place for a marriage proposal? The Grand Canyon has the perfect spot to pop the question atop an extraordinary canyon bridge with a stunning backdrop.

For the thrill seekers, plummet down the spiraling water slide leading to an underwater realm full of sunken pirate ships, treasure, and a mermaid park. Jump in a submarine for various tours of the deep ocean or scuba dive into depths of the sea to take in the beautiful coral and wildlife. Watch out for sharks, they can be lurking where you least expect them!

Head on over to the Grand Canyon for the adventure of a lifetime. What are you waiting for?

A Wintery Favorite: Calas Galadhon Park

By Gemma Cleanslate

I have to be honest. With all the wonderful regions I visit for the winter activities and the Christmas decor one of my very favorites is the CALAS GALADHON PARK SIMS. This is not a sim, it is a  group of 11 spectacular sims that is always a pleasure to visit. But, the winter season is exceptional in its offerings.

When you land you will find a teleport board to any of the sims you want to visit, and another board containing the rules of the sim with all its landmarks in the notecard. It will be easy to begin your winter adventures at the nearby skating area. I have not found many other skating experiences that are better than here since you are able to take a tour of three winter sims skating along the frozen waterways. Try it solo or with a companion. There are skate balls for you, or just take off under your own steam.  The scenery is delightful, and so realistic.

After that tour follow the sign for cross country to pick up a set of skiis and poles and take off on  a four sim cross country ski tour, solo or couple and get an eye full of wintry countryside, ice covered trees , bright berry bushes, cabins bright with fires glowing and so much more. The skis also work on their own so you can continue on your own.  All  around the sims are places to sit and chat. This is a great place to take a horse back ride too,  wonderful place to explore or just sit around.

The owners,  Ty Tenk (tymus.tenk) and Truck (truck.meredith) maintain a peaceful environment all year round but especially in this season of the Christmas Holidays. It is  free of merchandise or dwellers so distractions are few. Here is the entrance to the parks where you can get all the information you need.  http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Calas%20Galadhon/137/233/22

But, the best place in the parks, (though it is outside the parks this year) to celebrate the season is at the Christmas Pavilion. When you arrive enter the carriage that awaits that will take you on a ride all around this special sim. Arrive at the Pavilion itself. It is a massive castle filled with goodies for you. Toy soldiers guard the doors of the Christmas tree room overflowing with gift boxes. Look around in here for your gifts from Ty and Tenk.  On the other side is the room where you can enjoy coffee, cakes, tea and sweets. In the middle is a massive hall where you can dance and listen to the music of the season. Events planned for the Pavilion are on the calendar at the entrance of the parks.

Ty sent a message saying ”We hope you are enjoying winter at Calas and the 'One Christmas Night' build (smile). We have several pose sets out for your Xmas cards.  At the Christmas sim .. the couples skating poses  on the skating area, Single pose w/menu on the mother deer with the two fawns outside S/E corner of Paviion.  A single pose on the mother bear with cubs."

Here is the entrance to One Christmas Night for you.  Check scripts  and climb into the carriage for a magical experience. This year the returning tradition of the One Christmas Night is separate from the other sims , so hang onto the landmark.  http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/SilverMyst/182/253/23 .

Finlandia

By Grey Lupindo

Finlandia invites Second Life residents to “hangout, relax and enjoy” and see what Finland is like.  Located at Finlandia, Finlandia (191, 48, 23), it is a beautiful place to visit. To the best of my knowledge, this is the first SL site that is based on Finland.  Finlandia’s creator, Daniela Finchy, has made a wonderful sim that showcases her lovely country.   One of her notes states, “So everything you see, feel and touch is all about Finland.  We are proud ... and happy to show it to you.”
Finlandia is representative of the southern and southwestern areas as they appear in late summer and fall, a season which is known as “ruska.”   The terrain is comprised of rolling hills, forests, and beautiful rocky coastline.
The rez zone is a small wooden structure that is functional but not representative of the rest of the site.   It is filled with information and necessary notes, as well as a few odd objects.   A large cut out of Marilyn Monroe is there, but I’m not sure what her connection is to Finland.
Outside of the rez area, however, the land is peaceful and beautiful.  Wide paths cut through the woods and lead to various sites around the Finlandia.  Bridges straddle winding streams.   There is a bicycle stand, too, since they are very popular in Finland.   However, the paths are also great for horseback riding, which is one of my favorite things to do.   I saddled my horse and rode all over the site.
The area has lots of activities for residents to enjoy.   There are many spots where friends can gather, including a campfire site with a moonshine still brewing.   A large picnic and dance area is found at Finlandia (139,16,24).
There are lots of free games to play, including Whack a Mole, Mah Jongg, Minesweeper, and others, located in a large cottage at Finlandia (45,71,25).  Try out the rope swings that are outside, too.
The rocky coastline is ruggedly beautiful.   There are row boats available that you can use to explore it.  I rowed up to the sauna and stopped, although I think I could have continued further.  It is located at Finlandia (84,95,23).   The sauna is a wonderful steamy place that you don’t find very often in Second Life.  Approach this area with care since it is the only area where nudity is allowed in Finlandia.   There were other people visiting the sim during all of my visits, but no one was using the sauna.
At the top of another hill there is a very cozy country cottage and a large barn, at Finlandia (164,72,33).  Inside the cottage you can try out a loom or sit in a rocking chair by the fireplace.   There are three rooms, all  furnished.  A cat named Tuikku sits on the front porch, and other farm animals roam about in the yard.
There is a cottage for rent in Finlandia, but I don’t know if this cottage is it.   One of the nicest features in Finlandia is the lack of commercialism.   There are no glaring signs or items for sale to spoil the natural beauty.   Except for a few tip jars and teleporters to transport shoppers to the store area, the site is a peaceful park.
The shop area is located above the rest of the sim in a sky box, and it is worth seeing.  Finlandia Stores, Finlandia (119, 61, 2022).   Although it isn’t as beautiful as the rest of Finlandia, the shops are set along wide paths in a landscaped area.  There are fourteen shops from Finnish creators, including Mad Pea, SiO, Ihan Sama, Jinxies, S.L.A.D, CakeFox, Linealrise Design, and others.  There is also a club where you can hear Finnish rock/metal music.
In addition to the shops, Uleria Caramel, a Finnish artist, has paintings on display there.  Caramel creates art that is abstract expressionism in style.  She uses oil painting, glass, ceramics, aquarelles, photography, and other techniques in her art.   Her works are very colorful and unique.
Newsweek magazine ranked real-life Finland as the overall "best country in the world" in 2010.  According to Wikipedia, many sources rank it as one of the best countries for quality of life.  In creating Finlandia  Daniela Finchy has done a great job creating a sim that shares her beautiful country with the rest of Second Life.

Raisin Ranch

A few weeks ago I discovered the world of Ameretto horses. I don’t want to buy one of them (at least not yet), but it did get me interested in riding horses again. I wondered if there were any places in SL where residents could ride without investing their Lindens in livestock. Luckily I have found a few, and Raisin Ranch, owned by residents Denis Lagan and Equinox Pinion, is one of the most beautiful.

If you want a great trail ride or simply a beautiful spot to explore on foot, start at Raisin Ranch at Fruit Islands, Raisin (113, 48, 25). There’s a kiosk where you can pick up a free horse if you don’t have one of your own. The land is surrounded by tall waterfalls on one side and a sandy beach on the other. Palm trees provide shade, and there are lots of places on the beach where you can have a quiet talk or a picnic. Lush vegetation complements the area, and you can enjoy the sound of ocean waves or country music, whichever you prefer.

A series of wooden bridges connect the islands and make for an interesting ride or stroll. Pelicans, sea turtles, toucans and other wildlife can be found here. Continue up a steep mountain trail that is next to the ocean. What a view! Look around and you might find an eagle nest, too. But watch out for the cougars!

If you survive, continue on up the mountain. You’ll soon cross a stone bridge that leads around a volcanic lava flow. Beyond the volcano you’ll find ancient ruins and a beautiful waterfall hidden in a lovely tropical forest. If you’re with your special someone, you might want to tie up your horses and climb the steps on foot. You’ll be rewarded with a special treat at the top of the ruin.

The colors and sounds are amazing at this part of the sim, and the trail ride was fun. But if you want more excitement, you can find that here, too. Ranch residents, Valky Bigbear and Harald Zimer, have organized Italian Country Ranch, which features barrel racing and more. It is located at Fruit Islands, Raisin (202, 164, 451). Here, too, you can get a free horse and try your skill at racing around the barrels. Competitions are held regularly, and the rules are posted. If you’re fast enough, you might even win a cash prize.

If all that racing makes you thirsty, walk next door to the saloon for a free cold one. Or avoid getting dusty and sweaty in the first place and come here to watch the others race. You can pick up a schedule of events, then sit and relax in front of a roaring fire. You can even do a little line dancing, too.
