Waterpark At Bellisserian Fairgrounds

August is always a quiet month since so many in real-life and Second Life go on vacation. It is sort of the wind down of summer. August however the every year the Bellisserian Hammies create a fun place for everyone across the grid to come enjoy their summer toys at the Fairground. It is a huge Waterpark with everything you would want for a vacation.
 

The site opened with a huge party where dj, The Bellisseria Hamster (JessycaJayne Resident) entertained with her tunes and Varistentia Varriale, wearing the meme tag the beach Hampter hosting and dancing along.

Not only are there huge water slides , enough for many to use , but games for adults and kids. Many sunning areas are set up for those who just want to relax and enjoy the sun.

A game room offers several opportunities to get out of the sun in case you are too fair to stay long. 

 

 The food court had a great choice of lunch with a mouthwatering Barbeque food truck, a Taco and Quesadilla stand, Pizza and all sorts of drinks and ice cream to top it off. Beer and pretzels are available at the Stage!

Families will enjoy the whole area. The kiddies playground offers many games and toys to occupy the children while the parents lounge under covered resting areas. The Hammies always take care to have engaging events that satisfy all the visitors. All are invited to come participate and have a great time.

The Bellisseria Commissary And Moleseum

Prokofy Neva has reopened the Bellisseria Commissary in Queen’s Gambit . I went over Saturday to collect my passport stamps and had to spend some time looking into all the rooms. 

 

It is fun place to visit as usual. The usual breakup room is in place so you can go sit and have a talk with Marge who will help you work through the tough time.

 

As therapy after your chat you have a choice of activities to keep your mind busy. Downstairs in the back room you will find a vacuum and pushing it through out the house can be calming.. or not. Or, in the kitchen check out the stove and perhaps learn a new recipe and collect ingredients. If you like to bring along friends how about having a pie eating contest at the kitchen table or if you like a quiet afternoon with an opponent, sit down at the chess table and have a game. Be sure to check out all the interesting art throughout the house. You might find one for free.

Prokofy has a special challenge for you. Search around the house and locate a scroll. Pretty well hidden but I found it . Then search around again and find the diplomatic pouch that contains a lovely gift . I was happy to find that and already have it out on my side table. Look around carefully because there are more gifts in plain sight. There is a notecard to explain all this. For pure relaxation have a seat in the famous Mushroom room upstairs before you leave. You may be tempted to to hang out there when the desire comes to be alone in a safe place.

The whole weekend at the Bellisseria fairgrounds was billed as “Mole Day”. The whole place was filled with remembrances of Mole activity over the past years. Photos of Moles lined the walkways and many of their little inventions were placed around the grassy areas.

A wonderful Moleseum was set up showing many of their major builds over the past 16 years. Bay city was a huge one. I remember when that opened and we went over to explore. I learned how to bowl there. I am sorry to say I missed the opening day with Abnor’s speech but glad to listen to it on Youtube.

There were parties Friday through Sunday and many come over to visit and join the fun. My favorite part was the Mole Mountain where so many of the old and new Mole bears were on display. It was a great weekend for all attendees.

Bellisseria Anniversary Grounds And Bubbles

I could not make the Opening of the Bellisseria 5th Anniversary Celebration but arrived during the after party, however Kalia Cherry Anatine-Hax (Kalia Anatine)sent me a link to Abnor Mole ‘s speech .

He was the honored invited speaker since he with the LPDW Moles has helped Bellisseria develop all along the way. It is a lovely speech giving credit to all who really make Bellissseria what it is.

I did take some time to collect flowers from the roadside and reached 50 and got a nice flower basket to wear. Grab the hud near the gifts area and go look for purple flowers that rezz click them. The hud will keep track. I am also wearing a tablet containing a special stamp for the event and many others have them, some Lindens, some Moles and the staff of the BBB so look for them at parties and hanging around afk.I am usually by the gifts area when afk.

There have been some great tours offered. I took the ferry tour and collected stamps from the special terminal at various stops. Next Sunday I plan on a helicopter tour for those special stamps.

I also made some time to get the Swaginator and was able to find all the prizes ( with a little help from friends. I just hope I really got all the great gifts made by well known creators in Second Life. Wonderful gifts!!

Do not miss that area for sure! Taking pictures is difficult at the event since the rezz time is really show due to all the avatars attending events. There are parties every day so check the calendar to see the time. All this will continue until April 30 so keep an eye on the calendar!!

Also in the midst of the festivities! I told you I would remind you when Cica Ghost opened her new installation . It is called Bubbles and is lovely. The soft muted tones of pinks and blues in this underwater land hold many of her charming creatures. Remember to set your shared environment and listen to the music which seems to fit the habitat.

Her critter’s eyes follow you as you go along. I bet Mer people will love it. Some visitors wear protective bubbles for themselves. I wonder who lives in the quaint mound houses that dot the landscape. Perhaps they are Mers. Or some of the octopus looking critters who hang around during the day.

A you travel around touch everything and you will find fun seating or acrobatic gestures in some of the creatures and fish and foliage. Be sure and visit because I don’t know how long it will be around. I bet Cica is already planning her next installation .

The Bellisseria Commissary

Saturday mornings my first task every week is to read The Gazette. This is the Journal of Record of the Bellisserian Bureau of Bureaucracy that I often write about in the SL Newser. https://lastditch.typepad.com/bbbgazette/ . This way I can keep track of events that are upcoming and get the latest places that have added terminals for passport stamps. I then head right over to collect the new stamps before I miss any. It also gives me a chance to see new places on the grid that might make an article about interesting places you might enjoy visiting. Terminals for passport stamps available to all not only Bellisseria residents , are all over the grid on different continents and private regions also.

This Saturday I actually revisited a building that I meant to write about before but had misplaced information about it. This is the Bellisseria Commissary on Hartsmere.

Although there was a stamp terminal there before now there is also a new one upstairs in a room called the Breakup Room. It is a comfortable room with a sofa and large art pieces. In a chair sits Margo. Margo will talk to you about your issues if you address her. She is very smart.

If you wander next door there is a delightful room that seems a bit out of place but at the Commissary but a nice place to sit and relax. It is called Mushroom Land. Be sure to take a look at all the art pieces in the rooms . There are some early Linden items here and there . Wander into other rooms you will find goodies to collect . At the entrance there is an information card that tells you about the commissary. There is food in most rooms. I had a great bowl of chili and also a filling club sandwich while I looked around. I also picked up an interesting notecard that directed me to other locations where I could talk to more botchats . I will check them out.

Another charming location with a new stamp terminal that I checked out was Kasada. I would recommend you take a tour there. It has a little beach right near the entrance that has fun water. ski-doos to take a ride around the harbor.

Up on the hilltop is a lovely old fashioned bar to check out. From The Gazette I learned that Kasada is a resurrection with a do over of an old Kasada that was a biker hangout ,but has become a nature themed location with,”. several nice places to relax, hang out and have fun. Rezz a boat and sail to the Blake Sea or just relax, have fun and meet others from all over the world.”

Merrymount And Cesa Gallery

Saturday the BBB and Intercontinental passport groups held a new addition to services by instituting the first tour to obtain special stamps and introduce more residents to lovely places on the Bellisseria continent. We gathered near the office on Swordfish and went down to the rezz zone where there were two large and comfortable helicopters waiting to take us on a flight to Victorian Merrymount, one of the community regions . Two experienced pilots, Brian and Kevin made us feel comfortable and safe on the trip. For several this was their first helicopter ride and they loved it. We did lose two or three along the way but they were rescued and joined us later . We won’t blame the pilots though.

Merrymount is a beautiful region on Bellisseria. It offers a place to relax and enjoy games or just hanging around with friends. The Atrium is gorgeous and stands on a hill .It is open for visitors 24 hours with food and drink. There were six special stamps placed at various sites around the region and we had fun roaming to find them. For those who missed the trip they will remain until December 3.

On the way back we stopped off at Pegleg Lighthouse where one more stamp waited for us. After the tour ended we all flew back to the headquarters for a party in the garden with DJ Stephanie. I am looking forward to the next tour event. I hope you can join us. Stamp collecting is great fun and introduces one to all sorts of venues across the whole grid.

For those who need a passport

“If you don't already have a passport, you can get an Intercontinental one almost instantly. But it still takes about 15-20 minutes to set up... so come early! Click the white and yellow terminal that says "Intercontinental Passport Citizen of Second Life." It will give you a folder with a passport in it. You will need to rez it to the ground to set it up and the BBB HQ is a no-rez area. You can either TP home to set the passport up and then return, or you can go the rez zone near the BBB HQ. Sunday my friend Stevie Basavi opened her new gallery. She has shown art at various galleries but now has her own at Cesa. She says of her art .”I love art very much and want to make photos that I can feel, and that bring out emotions in others. I want to be able to put on virtual canvas the things that I have hidden inside, and to capture magic using layers of creativity, meaning I build my own sets, and create multi media pieces, using light and music in my creations when I am able”.

Her landscapes are varied and reflect her love of the beauty created across the sl grid. She also has lovely portraits. Her pieces are for sale at the gallery. It was a delight to walk around at the opening which had a large attendance and look at the variety of landscapes . Spark Project's Olympus And Bellissaria's Splash Adventure

Raven Frostwych (RavenStarr) and her team,the Spark Project have again taken another view of the universe. Her futuristic Nova, will be closing soon but her newest Olympus installation reaches far back into time to the Greek deities. It is a demonstration of the historical view of what Olympus was visioned in antiquity and the stories still entice people to study and learn their origins.

On arrival one finds a teleport to make it easy to get to the major sites so easily, just click each location. But walk a bit to get a good look around to see all the beautiful statues around the steps of the arena. By hovering my cursor on the statues I was able to see the names of those they represented.

The gathering of statuary of so many deities are scattered over the whole build which is held up, emerging from the clouds by three massive titans. One can get a good look at the titans from the Ring of Orion. Following the stairs will bring you around to each teleport destination with enticing areas along the way.

Athena , Neptune, Demeter, Dionysus some of the major deities have their own place. Each will offer different aspect of those days of old in the myths of Greece. They all loved to have water baths in their homes it seems. There are so many levels of these gods and goddess and offspring that I have forgotten but was happy to go back and see some of them and do a little research to remember how many myths are connected to them all. Then there are the offspring of the gods and humans to complicate all the stories. Go see if Olympus will reinvigorate your knowledge of the interesting stories.

I also visited a very different activity location going. The Bellisserian Hammies have done it again. I say so often.

For the 3rd year they built the marvelous water park called the Splash Adventure, The Oasis Water Park. It will be on the Bellisseria Fairgrounds until the end of August.

There are water slides from a great height. I tried one and made it! Look for a life saver TP near the exit from the slide to get to the top.

A number of fun games are placed around the site as well as food vendors. Or you can choose a cabana and just sit and read of chat with friends. Parties take place almost every day with DJs on the stage.

 It will be going on until the end of August. Make time for a visit.

A Look At The New Ranch Linden Homes

While I was busy with SL20B the Ranches were released for Premium Plus members . It was a huge item of discussion and many took advantage of them of them immediately. The first 600 available disappeared really fast. It was all amazing. I asked two friends if I could come visit their homes to see what it was like in the neighborhood. My first trip was over to Overshoe where BethanyMark has her ranch.

 

It is a lovely home with open space inside and out. I like it because of the openness. To me too many walls separating rooms like the traditionals I have visited are too confining for me. Others love them I know for a cozy feeling and can decorate rooms with different styles.
 

Bethany has a gorgeous open living room and can fit a beautiful aquarium at one end and a piano at the other. Her décor is charming .A game room /library sits next door to the Living room.

Outside in the back she has delightful pond and a separate area for a horse corral. 

 

It is very country but with an elegant feel.

My next visit was to Deadpan to the ranch of Margo Heartsong.

Again, it is also open and inviting and though has a few more walls is not confining at all. Each room has its own flair with the kitchen and dining area looking very rustic.

The Living room is also spacious with a piano I sat down to play! I loved the wooden floor and the window treatments .

Out back is filled with growing flowers and plantings of corn. Cows and a bull and horses populated the area . It definitely has a farm feel.

Since it is set on a pond there is an outside comfortable sitting area there. It is fun to see how each has their own vision of ranch living. Both wanted a piano which made me jealous since I don’t have room on my houseboat but would love one. Both the piano and the aquarium reminded of my first home on Thorstar where I lived for many years. Each also had lovely artwork on the walls. Thanks to Bethany and Margo for sharing their homes.

Here at the Bellihub one can see a video, teleport to an individual type of home or walk by each one and touch the house controller in front for each type to see each of the styles you are offered. I did not see the Ranch there yet .
