Drama Libre will celebrate its 1,000th party on Sept. 12, 2026. Now that’s devotion!

Xerxes Sismondi and his partner, the late Peachy Sassoon, hosted their first Drama Libre party on Nov. 4, 2006. Their goal was to create a place in Second Life where people could escape the drama of both real life and Second Life, enjoy great music, and immerse themselves in pure creativity. That mission hasn’t changed in 20 years.

“When Peachy and I first started going to clubs, we loved the energy, but always felt the themes didn’t take full advantage of what SL could do. SL is a platform where you can literally build anything – so why not dance on Mars instead of just wearing a spacesuit,” said Xerxes. 

So they learned to build one prim at a time. Soon, they recognized the joy of creating something new each week and seeing people’s reactions when they arrived motivated them to continue.

“At its heart, Drama Libre has always been about good music, good people, and no drama,” Xerxes admitted. “Peachy used to say our goal was simple: ‘Everyone should have a good time.’ That spirit still guides us today.”

At first, they thought about building a year’s worth of sets and rotating them. That idea lasted around five minutes, said Xerxes. 

“The team wanted something new every week, and honestly, so did we. Now we take two weeks each summer and two weeks each December for a break. Except for four Saturdays, we build every week of the year,” said Xerxes.

During those early years, coming up with themes was easy because everything was new. After hosting hundreds of parties, it became more difficult, having already featured many themes. 

“It takes brainstorming, teamwork, and a lot of imagination,” said Xerxes. “Today we have tools like mesh, Animesh, EEP, and PBR materials that let us build things we never could have dreamed of in 2006. After nearly a thousand parties, the excitement of creating something new each week is still what drives us.”

When it comes to organizing their parties every two or three months, the build team creates a schedule for the builders and DJs. The team includes: Dagmar Klaar, Cathy Ryder, Rinaldo Debevec, Patty Gummibaum, and Xerxes. A different builder becomes the build manager each week. They schedule it so each builder works with each DJ at least once during each rotation.

“The build manager chooses the theme, shapes the concept, and guides the overall look. Once the idea survives the team’s friendly interrogation, the manager writes a Prebuild Concept on a notecard that includes: the theme, major set pieces, special effects, scripts, and even the EEP settings. The notecard is then sent to the team.

“From there, everyone picks what they want to build. We aim to finish by Thursday so the manager can pack the set into a rez box. Friday, we swap out last week’s build. Saturday night is the party – and during the party, we announce the next theme and play the teaser. And by the following Monday, we restart our process again,” said Xerxes.

He added that they have been lucky to have amazing DJs over the years. Some are still with them, while others have moved on. They currently have Alexis Radikal, Noctoon Edelweiss, Ironman Zeplin, Rinaldo Debevec, Zathras Afarensis, and Magda Kameneva.

Xerxes said they take the themes seriously. Some aren’t difficult to match songs with, such as Woodstock, Moulin Rouge, and holidays. Some are more challenging.

“We’ve had themes like Oumuamua, Siberian Gulag, Pompeii, or Up Helly Aa! Watching the DJs puzzle out playlists for those is half the fun,” he said. “What I love most is that our DJs approach Drama Libre with joy. They support each other, share tips, and feed off the creativity of the builds. That energy makes every set feel alive.”

On average, about 30 people attend Drama Libre parties, with weekly attendance ranging from 16 to 45. Xerxes said it depends on the theme, season, and other events on the grid at that time. 

Asked what makes their venue unforgettable, Xerxes replied, “I think it’s the atmosphere – the builds, the music, the creativity, and the people. Peachy used to say we proved you can have an amazing time in SL without sex, without drama, without all the complications. She was right. For us, hosting was never just a job. We wanted to enjoy ourselves, too. Yes, we’re busy greeting people and keeping things running, but we’re also dancing and laughing right alongside everyone else. That energy is contagious.”

Xerxes added that every Saturday night, you step into a brand-new world built just for that moment. Sharing that with a group of people who are excited to be there – that’s what makes every party at Drama Libre unforgettable.

When it comes to memorable parties, Xerxes said it’s hard to pick just one. He did mention a few sets that were unforgettable. Their “Back to the Future” set transformed every ten minutes to match each timeline in the movie series. Recently, they used the same “scene-swap” scripting for their “7 Deadly Sins” event. Each sin appeared as a new environment. He said watching the world shift around the dancers in real time was incredible.

“Our ‘Mad Max’ set had a massive truck barreling down a desert highway – so realistic some people joked that it made them motion-sick. We’ve done underwater cities where guests had to board a submarine to reach the party, and survival themes where people teleported into a burning airplane before escaping to a deserted island,” Xerxes said.

Dagmar often mentions “Art for Escher’s Sake,” a mind-bending tribute to M.C. Escher. Cathy loves the historical sets, especially “Battle of Britain,” where WWII planes buzzed in the airfield during the party. Rinaldo likes the annual Winter Skate sets that remain out sometimes through January.

FogBound Blues Club

As always, FogBound Blues Club is packed with people. It’s Friday. Not quite 5 p.m. FogBound DJ Tar Heel is filling in for DJ Ghost. I manage to get through the door and head toward the first open spot. Not an easy task. Seventy-five people are listening to South African blues guitarist Dan Patlansky belt out “Bring the World to Its Knees.” Kaleo, an Icelandic blues rock band, sings “Way Down We Go,” and Billy Gibbons, from blues-rock band ZZ Top, admits “My Baby She Rocks.” Then, DJ Yume takes the stage with a group of dancers.

My search for FogBound’s manager isn’t difficult. Saphire Jinn is the person I need to talk to. I cam to find her, as there’s no way I can reach her through the sea of avatars.

I asked how the venue began and learn that Yanik Lytton and her partner, Meredith Mistwalker, started the club on Nov. 4, 2009. Yan searched for Blues clubs, but there were few that played it properly. Seeing the potential, Yan created FogBound. Her goal was to make it feel like a real Blues club.

Yan still owns the club, and Saphire is the general manager. Saphire met Yan in February 2013. When they became partners, Saphire started helping out and learned how the club operated. Saphire co-managed it until 2019. She left FogBound for a year to start Warehouse 21. Saphire got it up and running and then returned. She took full control of all operations.

“I have recently hired an assistant manager, Avalon Bouvier, who is amazing and has really brought this team together. It’s amazing how well things work here now,” said Saphire.

The sim has changed over the years, but the building remains the same. 

FogBound has DJs every day, with over 40 staff members and no turnover. 

“Once a DJ is hired, they know it doesn’t get any better than this, and they stay and are happy,” said Saphire. “DJ Panther has been here the longest. It was Panther, in fact, that told me about FogBound and gave me the LM.”

Asked why FogBound is one of the most popular blues clubs, Saphire responded that FogBound’s standards differ from any other “Blues” club; they are Rock Blues Clubs.

“We stick to the Blues. Yes, it might be a Blues Band doing a Blues song, but it’s always going to be blues-rooted. People know the difference,” she said. “Yan and I have had very good luck in hiring DJs who know the Blues. We have a method that has worked 100% of the time. Also, our atmosphere here is different from that of any other club. Here, freedom is encouraged. You will notice the only rule is to be kind to staff. We don’t judge people. The place has a family feel, with lots of love and laughter in the air. People pick up on that, too.”

Saphire said that FogBound has been a journey for them. She credits Gregg Torgeson as a major part of the venue’s early years and mentioned how much he’s missed. 

“What started out as a novelty so Yan would have a place to go at night has now evolved into this amazing operation,” added Saphire. “So many lives have been touched by FogBound. The love stories that started here alone are amazing. This is where so many come for their evenings, and we are family here.”

The New Happy Vixen Beach Club

With the arrival of a new year, some are taking the time for some changes. And among the changes for the Sunweaver/Angels community is a new look for the Happy Vixen Beach club. 

 

The Happy Vixen, owned by Nydia Tungsten (and managed by Bixyl & Charlee Shuftan and Snowy/Skylark Lefavre), has changed much since it's beginnings over ten years ago. Originally just a tiny beach building made for parties once a week, since then the club has grown both in size and the number of events, currently having several a week. The new build has more than just a dance floor. There is a seating area to rest in between events (or if a couple want to get away from the dance floor).

There's also a movie theater, with a huge selection of movies. 

There's an inner tube ride that takes you around much of the sim.

And the place being a club, next to the dance floor is a bar where people can sit and chat and get a (virtual) drink.

The club was closed for several days for the Christmas holiday, to allow for things to be moved from the old location to the new one. But on New Year's Eve, it reopened, with an announcement from Nydia:

 

 Hey folks! It's time for another great event at The Happy Vixen Beach Club, tonight it is a Fishbowl event! Have you ever spent what seems like an hour going through your inventory for just the right look well, tonight it is New Year's Come Celebrate New Year's with what you might wear for a New Year's Eve Celebration!  Come listen to the wonderful music of DJ Snowbuns as we rock out! With Isabella hosting, There is a contest, and good company! "Have a Happy New Year's"!

 

Yours truly was not there, but heard the party went on for well over two hours> DJ Snowbuns described it as the best event she played at in a long time. There was a prize of ten thousand Linden dollars up for grabs. It was split by three lucky winners.

Reader Submitted: Club Cutlass and Club Zero Gravity

Club Cutlass and Club Zero Gravity, go almost back to the founding of the Sunweavers Group, 15 years ago.  We had control of about 95% of the sim. So it dawned on us to create a couple of hangout spots, for the Sunweavers.

Since the theme of the sim was pirates, we had a pirate ship, in the harbor, and Club Cutlass was located inside, the fort, overlooking the harbor. Kind of leading to Club Cutlass always being an open air club.

We then installed Club Zero Gravity, into a nearby ravine, covering it over.  Shockwave Yareach then created anti-gravity belts you could wear, allowing you to dance, while floating in mid-air, or prancing on one of the planets or moons.

After getting tired of the restrictions imposed on mainland, we opted for a private estate. I believe we put Club Cutlass floating over our new estate of Buccaneer Bay. But this time it was an Aztec style castle. It remained as such for a few years.

 

Club Zero Gravity was setup, on Sunweaver Space.  It was a huge sphere and inside the tables floated around. I am not sure if we ever got it on line, as we were always tinkering with it.

The next reincarnation of Club Cutlass was like the ELO album cover, the round doughnut, It was designed and built by Indio Quinnell.  Then after a while, there was a disagreement over the club with Indio as to ownership. We simply replaced it with the current Steampunk Pirate Airship.

 

As time passes and technology improves and attendees keep growing in numbers. We have opted to upgrade current airship to a new improved, design.  More room, even for Dragons!  So even after 15 years Club Cutlass and even it's sister club Club Zero G, still have it where it counts!

Bellisseria Gaming Club

Not too long ago, I heard about a place in the Linden Home continent where people could go play a game, the "Bellisseria Gaming Club." It is located in one of the homes in the Zwischen. The home itself is owned by Sophia Falta, who also founded the club. Dulcinea Andretti is the manager.

The Bellisseria Gaming Club is open to Belli residents and beyond, of all ages and species. Various games available, from 1 to 8 at one table. Hearts, Greedy, Hand & Foot, Cheesy 3D, Chess, Mahjong, Yacht 5, Game of UR, Reversi, Mancala, etc.

Dropping by, from the outside it looked much like any other two story conventional Linden Home, a blue coat of paint and an address "75220" on the porch, save for a sign next to the door "Bellisseria Gaming Club." Straight ahead inside, there's a group joiner next to the stairwell. The ground floor has three games: Cheesy, Hand & Foot, and Greedy. The room with the Greedy games has two tables, plus a sign explaining the rules. There's also a coffee table where one can get a cup of the caffinated beverage. Second floor has Hearts, Skippo, and a room with three games, Ur, Reversi, and Mancala.

Taking a look in the back, there were a few more games. I found a chess set, and a table to play Majong, as well as a comical-looking game of Hangman. Less easy to see, next to the swimming pool was a small game of Bubble Pop, and on the steps was "Tournament Tic Tac Toe." There was also some children's games such as hopstoch, a see-saw, and a merry-go-round.

If one wants to go by sheer volume of them, there's many more at Montecito Bay's Firecracker Arcade and the Boardgame Beach area. But for a Bellisseria home, the place does have a lot of games.

Hill Top Blues Club

Recently a friend suggested I check out a certain Blues club, Hill Top Blues in the Sandy Creek sim. Heading there, I ran into it's owner, Remo Williams (Remo1Williams Resident). Among the first things I noticed about the club building was it's appearance. From above, it looked like the lower half of a guitar.

"I am a real-life blues musician," Remo told me, "And I wanted a club that reflected that. As you can see, the club building is a guitar." He pointed to the door under the "Open 24 Hours" sign and invited me in. He pointed out pictures of various musicians on the sides, "I am from Chicago where there at one time the home of all of the blues greats. Many of them are displayed on the walls. The club never closes and there is always good music playing. I begin streaming the moment I log into Second Life, as I am at this moment." Besides his avatar picture on the music stream board, there was a real life picture by the DJ booth of an older man with a guitar and a beret. Remo confirmed it was him, "That was my signature look."

Bringing up the shape of the venue, Remo pointed out, "Everything here at the club is guitar based." He pointed out the pool, which was in the outline of one, "Even the pool is a guitar. We have a lot of fun here and I have some awesome people in my group." He did add that while blues music was played most of the time, it wasn't all the time, "But not only do we play the blues here, there are many times that we jump genres." While we were talking, songs were playing such as "It's A Sin To Be Rich, It's A Low-Down Shame To Be Poor" by Lightnin' Hopkins, "Love Should Never Lose" by J Sintoni, "Chill Out" by Melvin Taylor, "Wrong Side Of The Road" by Claudia Bettinaglio, and "The Blues Ain't Never Gonna Die" by Mike Griffin.

The club has been around for only a few months, "I first opened (on) 11 June of this year." The club itself was built on day one, "I did all of this in one night." But on the recreation area just outside the venue, he had added some games and other details over time, "I just added something new last week. It's a crazy game that people love. ... But we also have Greedy, and a couple of other games to play. I will show them to you." We went to a couple just outside the club, him pointing out one that looked like two identical pictures, with one split into many squares that were scrambled, "Okay, this one is a take off of an old childhood game. You have to slide the squares about until you make the complete picture. It is just a time waster. BJ finished one in 17 minutes." He then pointed to the other, which was a picture of a lady avatar on a base with the words "Strip Dice." Remo commented, "The other game is just pure luck of the dice. The object is to undress the stripper. My people seem to love it."

"This is a very nice place to just hang out." Remo told me, "I have a few members that work from home and they come here to just sit and listen to some blues while they do work. We have parties both inside and here on the deck. I'm still growing. It all takes time." He pointed out the nearby shore, "The overlook of the sea is very nice. We are very social here, everyone gets along."

When Remo's friend B.J. D'Angelo (BJAngel Resident) came back after being away from keyboard for a while, he asked her for a hand. Then he showed me what looked like a boxing ring, "I made a boxing ring , and there is a free mallet and we beat hell out of each other. The women are the most violent (laughter)." They both stepped in, got huge plastic mallets, and began wacking one another, with Remo getting the worst of it. He would comment over voice, "She's always kicking my *ss." Speaking in text, "Like I said, we just have fun and a lot of laughs here. And always good music."

Remo would say that he had "over 300,000 songs in my drives. I am constantly adding to it. So far there are only 2 dj's here , DJ Wolfy and myself." B.J. would speak up at this point, "We like to play stump the DJ, but that man hasn't been stumped yet." He grinned, "I don't see that ever happening." "Plus with his knowledge of all the people in the industry he can come up with an educational time as well." "But it is fun when they do try." "Haha, especially when he pulls out two or three different versions of it."

He would say of the club regulars, "The members here are from the world over. I am quite proud of this place because it is so different and out of the norm. I have been playing music for all of my life, even while I served in the army I would always find a band to play with on my off duty times. ... I get many song requests, and for the nost part the requested song is there rapidly. I never turn down requests. I make sure that anyone that comes here is made to feel welcome. There are no strangers here at all." B.J. would say, "Oh and a big thing about Remo. When your here, you're like family."

Remo pointed out a car next to the club and deck, a Mini Cooper, "There are two things that I have great passion for: my music and my Mini Coopers. ... I own a couple of them in real life as well." Talking to him, on the occasions he leaves the club, it's usually to drive his Cooper around.

Of what Remo plans for the club, "My long term plans are as follows: I want to expose as many people as I can to great blues music. The blues is worldwide and a style or genre of music that will never go away. And from my travels I have seen this first hand. My other this is, that I am not trying to compete with other blues clubs here in Second Life, because there (are) plenty of blues to go around. I have talked about opening a blues club for nearly three years. ... Its a very cozy place. The members and visitors seem to make it that way. I have never heard any complaints about this place. Even some of the hard core blues fanatics have given me a nod of approval.

"And another thing. My sets seem to always go over the two hour time frame, a six hour set is the norm around here (smiles). Well, when the people are digging the music, it gets me going and I dont quit. There are times when I have stayed here for 20 hours ... my dear friend BJ forces me to stop and at least go eat some food. That's the kind of fun that we have here." B.J. grinned, "Yea, sometimes you need a stick to get him to stop and eat."

"Like I said, I am quite proud of Hill Top Blues," Remo stated. "This is a very social place," B.J. added, "and Remo is a social person, and he loves to share his music." He went on, "One of the cool things with my people is that they always look out for me. Most know that I fought cancer just one year ago." "And won," B.J. reminded. "And I so admire that they do look out for me," Remo responded, "It is another reason why I made this club. I don't ever want the blues to die."

It was soon time to end the interview, and Remo would wish me well, "My club is open to all people, There are no borders here. You are welcome here anytime."

Rayven Wolfmoon's Wild Wolves Club

Longtime readers may remember the Primal Passions club by Rayven Avalira. From 2014 to 2016, this castle made into a club was an adult-themed venue that had regular events and some special ones such as a band tribute that raised money for the Relay for Life under the Sunbeamers and two of Nydia Tungsten's "Twisted Christmas" events, as well as being the setting of one of her videos. Recently, she as Rayven Wolfmoon brought back the castle under a new name, the Wild Wolves Club. The venue is in the Belvedere sim.

When talking to Rayven, much of the time, it was in voice. So I could take only a few notes. She runs the place with the help of her partner, Nathaniel Wolfmoon (NathanLeonel Resident). Technically, the club had reopened on Sunday June 27, with Rayven breaking a personal DJing record of six and a half hours. But the place then was an open-air club. But friends kept saying how much they liked the castle, so she brought it back.

Rayven was saying she doesn't intend for Wild Wolves to be a seedy strip club, but she does aim for a casual atmosphere where those coming by can relax and have a fun and wild time, "plenty of rules in real life, people just need to let their hair down and relax." She does have a few hostesses and DJs lined up for events, "I already have DJs lined up ready to go. Now I just need dancers," but last I heard she was still open for a few more. And as before, the place is still open to avatars of practically any kind as long as they can fit through the front door.

Rayven showed me a couple cars to be raffled off soon, made by Fhionn, "a smokin hot job." Besides a car maker, he was also a DJ in real life and Second Life.

I was at a few parties (pictures not available as some had little clothing). For part of the time, Raven was on a stage in front of the crowd DJing for them. Other times, she was in the middle of them, her saying earlier she liked to "go out into the crowd and engage with them." The events a few furs and feral avatars mixed in with the human avatars. With a couple of the parties, wearing little to no clothing was encouraged, and the music a tad raunchy. There were plenty of pop tunes with a little metal mixed in.

But Rayven's talents are more than just DJing. She showed me a few dresses she had been making: wedding gowns. The four were distinct and different designs. She had been told by someone who saw what she could do, "you need to stop hiding what you make." So she planned to sell dresses for about 300L. Something she was working on currently was a butterfly dress with a harness in the back, so a girl could look "fun and flirty" without appearing loose. She was also working on some lace lingiere, "Rapture," which hid practically nothing.

Besides the club, the area had other places. Nearby, there was what Rayven called a market area, which stood before the castle like a village, "for content creators whom want to display their creativity." The stores were 225 Lindens a week each with room for 100 prims. Adult furniture could be sold in them, but it was against the rules for it to be used. 

Next to Belvedere was the Green Pastures sim. In contrast to the adult nature of the castle, this area was more family friendly, Rayven saying some wanted to bring their "littles" with them. One kind of breedables, Chimeras, could be used to fish. So there was Chimera fishing. There were also classes on how to better use Chimeras. There were also Battlebeast vendors. The sim also had a breedable market there, with anyone renting three weeks getting the fourth for free. There were also auctions, with those putting pets up for auction paying a small fee. Rayven and Nathaniel took me to a large skybox area over the sim. The place had been decorated a little by Damien Dusk, the owner of Obsidian Chimmeras.

There has yet to be a set schedule for the Wild Wolves Club. But the way things look, it has a promising start for those who are looking for a fun time and don't mind a little nudity. And with the club part of an area with plenty to do, and with Rayven getting into dress designing, it looks like she will continue to be active in a variety of things for some time to come.

Ms. Orchide Delmar's Love and Harmony Jazz Club

Ms. Orchide Delmar is no stranger to hard work and success in Second Life. She has spent many years in-world using her management and corporate skills to assist others build their dreams of popular and successful venues. After many years of managing one of SL's jazz giant clubs, she decided to put her business plan in action and founded her very own,  Love and Harmony (L&H) Jazz Club.

Her goal was to create an environment so residents in Second Life could frequent and feel comfortable whereby when they enter the venue their adoration for it captivates their attention. The name of the venue emulates her passion for people who are touched every day, one DJ and entertainer at a time.  Ms. Delmar wants L&H to be a place where people can come and cherish without fail.

Nestled in the oceanic region of Seaworld, Love and Harmony comprises sunsets, white sandy beaches, ocean splashing over the reef, warm tropical breezes, and very exquisite food.  It is surrounded by a lovely garden, magical waterfall, and dining to complement each couple's special relationship. Other niceties include romantic dinner, rezz day, proposals, anniversaries, birthdays and special events.  There are  Love and Harmony Jazz dance ballroom couples or singles.  Guests can meet new friends, run into old friends, and enjoy castle elegance shops.

Love and Harmony is Second Life's champion for fine dining, weddings, dancing, and entertaining. It is an exquisite venue, with elegant decorum for each guest's comfort and pride.  Guest, JedBenz Resident stated, "I am pleased with the venue." "It's a place where people can  come to enjoy the company of their love and heart." Overall,  Love and Harmony is designed with each guest in mind. Ms. Delmar, states that "Love and Harmony is romantic, genteel, classy, and elegant." "The right place for our guests."  Love and Harmony is a great place to call home; a place to remain on your calendar any day of the week.

Guests often take tours and admire the intricate details of the ballroom; from the entrance to upstairs.  The restaurant and Paris. Each area exudes its own captivating beauty.  The shops, located beside the ballroom, are adorned with some of your favorite formal gowns and tuxedos.  Dinners by the waterfalls or in the gazebo surrounded by a gorgeous garden enriched with sweet smelling flowers, golden green vines.

Blast From The Past - Bleu Ruse Cafe

Back when I used to work at Fox Haven, there was a little cafe called the Bleu Ruse Cafe which was owned by Arcee Redclaw. It was a nice place to sit and chill and a great alternative to the bumping night-life of the club on the same sim. There were live performances and DJs, but it was much more relaxed than your typical Second Life club. The hosts were actually bartenders. The decor and atmosphere reminded me of a southern restaurant or bar and the staff were very hospitable. It all had a southern hospitality vibe to it. I loved hanging out there and I missed it so much that I asked Arcee to put a mini version of it on my current parcel. The cafe itself went through many alterations over the course of nearly three years and at one point there were two of them; one at Fox Haven and a bigger version on the emergency responder roleplay sim called Rochester.

I had a chance to sit down with Arcee and talk to her about her previous ventures with her cafe. When asked what inspired her to start Bleu Ruse Cafe she told me that it first came about because of an opportunity at Fox Haven. “When I first joined the community of Fox Haven there were a few empty buildings which the staff offered up for personal storefronts or places to relax. I’ve always wanted to run sort of. . .a cafe or small lounge, so I took the opportunity to do so. I turned it into a small lounge where people could play Second Life instruments or DJ and it grew from there.” She says that the growth of the cafe was thanks to community involvement. The French naming scheme originated from her French background. “Bleu Renard Cafe was a bit. . .weird. . .so I went with Bleu Ruse Cafe since it rolled off the tongue better. So, in a way, it’s ‘Blue Smart Cafe’ when translated properly.” The color scheme was inspired by the blue fox avatar that she originally used at the start. She still has the avatar saved in her inventory to remember things by.

When asked what she liked most about running the cafe, she told me that it was the connections that she made. “I met many of my closest Second Life friends through them finding their way to the place or through the ones who helped it to grow and thrive. I would have never imagined meeting all these folks. Every time Bleu Ruse Cafe is brought up, people tend to have fond memories of the place.” She feels like she did her job at making a fun and relaxed venue and I would have to agree. “BRC grew in a way that was unimaginable and astounding and it was never because of the amount of funding that I put towards it or the hours I spent remodeling. It was the patrons and the staff that made the place come alive.

It was a community, of sorts. From Ace Redclaw being my Security, Midnight Galaxis being my General Manager, and Raff aiding me with the DJs; it was thanks to them and the loyal patrons that BRC lasted as long as it did. With the closing of Fox Haven as well as Rochester, Bleu Ruse Cafe closed with them, but it’s memory as well as a smaller form on my parcel lives on today.

Interviewing Jasmine Dawn And Nydia Tungsten About The Happy Vixen

The Happy Vixen is the beach club of the Sunweaver community, as well as for the group of the owner's friends, Nydia's Angels. It is owned by Nydia Tungsten and managed by both Snowbuns (Skylark Lefavre) and the Newser's own Bixyl Shuftan. Recently, the club was remodeled, and the job fell to Jasmine Dawn (Orasine), whom also has done a few Halloween builds for the club. I met up with Jasmine to talk to her about the club.

Jasmine described her position at the Happy Vixen, “As security and as it's builder. I help as needed and when something needs tweaked.”

I was wondering how long Jasmine has been part of the Happy Vixen Club.  “Oh for years, this club used to be over where the Redfoxx clan is now and it started out as a work in progress place.” said Jasmine.  “Orginaly it was a covered dock side club, very small place.  Nydia Tungsten wanted something bigger.”

I asked Jasmine about the new Happy Vixen Club that we were sitting on. “This place?" she said, "It originally was a club set on another sim that Nydia controls. Very little traffic there. But it had potential for a great open air type club.  I seen it and felt it a shame the design wasn't being used as much it should. The question came up about a rebuild and this place (in the other place) was the first idea of many I had.  It offered more room for the patrons, seating and followed suit in the beach theme. There is still things that needs be done for the reopening tomorrow evening (March 17).  I still need work on a spot for Geerkil to sit when he is here.  Geerkil, if you didn't know, is a giant Seawolf type dragon.” Geerkil's large body means he takes up more room than other DJs.

My next question was would Jasmine continue being with the Happy Vixen for a long time.  “For as long as I am needed, " Jasmine replied, "Or till management can find someone better.”

While Jasmine and I were talking, club owner Nydia Tungsten came along.  I invited her to join in the interview.

I asked Jasmine what inspires her to build an amazing club like the Happy Vixen.  “Well, I do it for the people," she replied, " I see people sitting around, nothing to do really or really no place to hang out at. I like giving things that occupy their time and when it is here at a place I've helped with.  It makes it better.  I've done many things as events in the past, did the haunted Halloween maze and the haunted house.  Everyone really enjoyed the haunted maze and the woods style club area.”

I asked Nydia about her role in the The Happy Vixen Club. She replied,  “Well... I own THV and created it for alternate days for the space club.”

My next question to her was how long has she been an owner of The Happy Vixen Club.  “Since it was created," She answered, “Well the first one was VERY simple but popular build.  But that one was build by my friend Treminari.”

I asked Nydia how long would she continue to be the owner of The Happy Vixen Club.  She replied, “As long as I can.”

I told Jasmine that I think she did a remarkable job on the particular build.  “I always try to put my best foot, hoof, forward in my builds.” she said, “I'm always about, mostly hamming it up with friends but like now, I'm wondering what I am missing.”

It was an interesting interview.  Not only did I get to interview the builder of an awesome club, I also get to interview her boss.
