Sakura Matsuri

By Bloodykitty

Welcome to Sakura Matsuri, better known as Nakamisei Street. This place is filled with small vendors of Japanese related things as well as cute stuff. The sim is located in the region of Ryukyu and owned by MORE Laville. Have you ever wanted cute clothes? Your in luck. Appliers? Sure! Items for your home? You bet your bottom! This lovely decorated market is home to all of those wonderful things.

Now I didn't get a chance to shop but I was mainly looking around the square and it's so beautiful with its small buildings, lanterns hanging all over the place, as well as the pink trees. Of course if you zoom out this sim may seem small but it's quite a good adventure to go through every single item, looking for the right one. Now I've been a shopping addict for as long as I can remember on Second Life, especially as soon as I got my few hundred lindens. Time to drop till you shop!

I recommend going here and checking it out, whether or not you plan to shop. The sights and sounds are a wonderful addition to every sim, especially a Japanese styled one. While there may not be music, there's still other sounds to enjoy while browsing and exploring. Come down today and hang around, maybe you'll even see me there!

CADERU 2017 Valentine

By Bloodykitty

Ever wanted to enjoy what's left of February as well as Valentine's Day? Now you can! This may just look like a simple little town but it's oh so much more! Besides all the pretty building structures, lights, and all of the glowing lights you can shop as well! Upon following the arrows down the road and admiring the sights around you and taking note of the advertisements, it's really a beautiful place to be.
CADERU 2017 Valentine is located in the region of Clover, the estate being titled as Metabirds2 and owned by Asma Harcourt. I had gotten a few looks around the place and even went into the main area which upon going inside the tunnel at the end of the lighted arrows is a little market. There you can buy from gachas and main vendors on whatever goodies your heart desires. I would've bought some stuff myself but as a renter we all must save a little buck or two right?

Inside the shop there are some wonderful vendors and gachas and at really neat prices too for those of you who are looking to save a buck like myself for other things. The items range from Valentine's Day themed to sweet treats, clothing, accessories, and other assorted goodies which you can't go wrong on!
Besides an in-world location, the little event and shop also as a site for you to go to to check them out further, some of it's in Japanese and or Chinese so you may not be able to understand unless translated, but I promise it's worth the look! Here are both the SLURL and site link for you to navigate to and explore!

Torley Island

By Bloodykitty Rresident

This colorful place is called TORLEY ISLAND, if you did not know. Basically it's just a place to explore around or relax when you want time away from other people or friends, and trust me the times I been here there isn't anyone around really. Sadly there isn't a lot of information in the tp besides a description and name, so from what I assume it must be one of the linden locations around in Second Life. Even though there's barely any life in this sim it's still a interesting and colorful place to look around and chill in.

Like I  said previously I recommend hitting it up whether or not there's activity here because of the colorful scenery of greens and pinks, Torley's favorite color, especially because he likes watermelons. This place basically has a futuristic and modern vibe to it as well as a bit of techno to on the side. The great thing about this place is that he has up a sign called, 'What is Torley?' It is sort of a built in browser but for me it doesn't seem to load anything. I assume if it does work it basically tells you, well Torley tells you who he is. Of course there's always the way of Youtube and looking up the official SL Youtube channel or his private one where he does music and tutorials. I recommend you checking those out!
Overall I have no real problem with this kind of sim despite it being dead as dust. Sometimes places that are dead and not filled with so much life are places worth going to to relax, or even being there to be idle when your doing something in real life. Even though it's rare, sometimes I come and sit in the sim just to chill because I can't find many places to head to that aren't the same that's saved in my landmarks folder. I hope you enjoy your visit to TORLEY ISLAND!

Havenhollow III

By Bloodykitty Resident

A small event is going on in this wonderful sim called Havenhollow III that just really involves trick-or-treating from door to door around the creepy neighborhood. It doesn't list a specific date it starts or ends but I assume it goes from the beginning of October till the end of it. The mansion in the above picture is just one of the locations you can visit after a travel through the graveyard, and hopefully you take the trusty flashlight given to you before you enter. The land is group owned by a private group called, Holiday Appreciation Association and is located in the region LEA22.

My time exploring the place was a fun one because of the trick-or-treating and just the vast exploration of Havenhollow III and the spookiness of the place. Even though it seemed to end really fast for me with the exploration part I still had a good time and honestly would go back again to hang around. Unfortunately it was quite laggy either due to the people around the sim and or that it's just my computer. As far as I am aware there doesn't appear to be any triggering content like screamers, pop-up images / pixels, or anything else. Before you go just be warned if your easily spooked or frightened by small noises.

Overall I suggest you all go and check the land out while you can and get into that trick-or-treating scene. Luckily they supply buckets for a range of avatars, but I am not exactly sure what some of the labels meant save for the 'standard' one. If I had to say my favorite part of being in the event so far I'd have to choose trick-or-treating and visiting the haunted house, or at least that it's just run-down really.

Editor's note: Taking a quick peek over, there were separate buckets for Tiny avatars.I also noticed throwers for eggs and toilet paper rolls. So apparently Halloween fun can take the form of mischief here.

Furry Fashion

By BloodyKitty Resident

There's a cool place I discovered through my friend from Tumblr. The sim is called Furry Fashion and is located in the region of Furry and is actually group owned. Besides speaking on Skype too we met up in SL at the sim and I was offered a hosting job which I accepted and am currently waiting to be approved or not. My first reaction to the place was that I was taken in by the purple and black colors as well as just the layout itself. Even though I didn't take a walk around at first since I was talking to said friend and some of the staff there, I still though what I saw was neat.

I'm not exactly sure if everyone gets notecards about the place and it's landmarks but it's helpful. In Furry Fashion there are nine or ten places, including the place you start at which is in front of their lounge I believe. The place includes a sandbox, welcome center, avatar den, furry mall, a job center, park, swimming hole, special event parcel, and a rental office, and also a lounge. While I haven't fully checked out every single landmark on the land thoroughly as I wanted to, what I did get to see was very cool.

Everyone should come here whether they have a furry avatar or not, which I believe you are allowed to come without being a furry avatar since I didn't get kicked any of the two times I arrived at Furry Fashion. Whether your into dancing, chilling with your friends or people in general, or even shopping this is the place for you! Maybe you'll even get to see my hosting in the club soon enough.

Editor's Note: I've known the owner of the venue, Amethyst Crystal, since 2007 when she was on a different account. I didn't mention the place to her, though, she found about it herself. The store welcomes all (except griefers), although residents whom have over five megabytes worth of scripts will be asked to take off objects containing them until they're under the limit (Avatar control HUDS, Tiny Empires game, etc.). Their lounge has events every evening, and twice a day on weekends. The store is taking part in both the Quest Fur Cover hunt and Twisted Hunt, in addition to launching it's own Halloween Hunt on October 1st (details to follow).

The Crazy Horse Saloon

By BloodyKitty Resident

This fine place is called, "THE CRAZY HORSE SALOON" which is located in the region of Woiler. This place is  of course a fantastic club that has all kinds of music, though country is its main man I believe. Believe it or not, I work here sometimes when I can as a host, and everyone is so sweet and kind, and the staff has taken me in with open arms like I'm apart of their growing family. The sim is group owned if you wanted to know, and the group is called, Dusty's Club Staff. While this place may be empty or not as lively as it is some nights, I can assure you it's calming to just walk and explore.

Now like I said before, I'm not just saying it's nice and all because I work in the sim as a host, I'm saying it even if I was just a guest coming for the music provided by multiple DJ's that are able to work the different shifts. Like any club really there are scheduled times for people to be at the place, even certain days of course too. I, myself, have not been around it like I used to be because of family problems. I ensure you though that the staff and even the guests that come and go are very kind, caring, and helpful to each other.

I hope your able to visit this sim soon when you get the chance, especially when its a night of partying. Now I can't specifically tell you when people will be around or not just from the schedule, sometimes they work when they are able to, and sometimes aren't able to, even if they are on the schedule board. Come on down and enjoy yourself to some country music as well as an all around variety of music too.

Spellbound

By Bloodykitty

This little magical place here goes by the name of Spellbound, the region name being Raven Wood. Now you may be wondering what it is, and let me tell you that it is a wonderful and beautiful sim, even without the store on the land too! There's snow all around, dead trees, bright lights, everything magical. That isn't the whole point though, and the reason why is because this particular place has a store on it that includes just hair and accessories. While I haven't bought anything yet, I plan to hopefully soon.

The owner of the store goes by the same name as the region, and I honestly think it's unique that it's like that. This store has a good amount of hair and accessories, but it's mostly pastel hair as far as I seen, and just cute little bows and hats that you'd think centers around the magic theme itself. I've explored the store and the land itself and it captured my heart because of the scenery and simplicity, but also has it's spooky features too. For me the spooky things were the symbol that you appear on after teleporting, the dead trees, castle, and even the greeters at the door too, fake ones of course for show. As far as I can tell and know, on the second floor there isn't hairs yet, but spaces of whee the images would go and such. While this sim wasn't active at the time of my adventure there again today to take the snapshot, people were still there

All and all I think it's a nifty place to be for those hair and accessories addicts and lovers, as well as people who like to take screenshots for flicker or tumblr, or even just to adventure around it like myself. I feel like the atmosphere was a mix like I said of magic, spooky, and cuteness. With that said I totally will visit this store and place again to get a few things there and just to look at everything. I hope you all have fun on your visit!

Mauve

From BloodyKitty

Mauve is a quiet and peaceful place to be when you want to get out of the whole large crowd scene of Second Life. It's simple, relaxing, easy to navigate, as well as the fact that it looks beautiful in the different times of day in-world. In the description of the landmark it says about it being able to be a meeting place for events, info, freebies, or even a place to simply hangout. While I haven't personally used it for those specifically save it for a place to rez when I start up the virtual world. This particular sim is apart of the mainland, which I believe is one of the places a new resident is able to start in after finishing orientation / tutorial island; or at least it's where you can come if your new and need info. From my understanding the said information can be found on various boards in the above picture. Whether you want to check out the blog for Linden Lab, a landmark for those newbies around the wonderful virtual world, as well as an advertisement.

If your looking for a real experience then just waiting for people to show up out of the blue, this sim isn't for you. If your the kind of person that likes to wait or has to get some organizing of their inventory done than it is! The two features it includes is that you are able to use voice to communicate with other residents, old and new, as well as the ability to fly around and get a bigger view of the whole area. What adds to the simplicity and helpfulness is nearby locations. Unfortunately you may not be able to access these since some may be homes, or even lands you cannot be on depending on your rating of general, moderate, and adult. This place is supposed to be clean of any vulgar words, or even getting naked like you can in a sandbox. I am not sure if you can get kicked out of the said place if you do  have your avatar naked, but I don't think they'd do it if you plan on putting clothes right away. No one likes a resident in their birthday outfit now do they?

Personally I haven't had bad experiences around there considering it's set as my home location, due to me being a homeless little resident of SL. People usually come and go, whether it's because they are new, or just bored and tping around until they find an awesome sim. As for the loading and rezzing it depends on your computer on how long things will load like objects, prims, trees, and so forth; generally I do not have an issue with waiting for things to load here because of it being not so cluttered and having many builds unlike other places like clubs, homes, shops, and so forth. I definitely recommend checking it out at some point or another. Like I said previously its usually quiet and not action packed like other sims are, but if your wanting to get away and do a bit of a clean up, you can without a problem.

The place is owned by Governor Linden and created by Chip Poutine. Upon trying to look further into information on it there isn't information about when it was created. Although this is only an assumption, it might of been created when Second Life was started or at least someone during the beginning of when it was created and open. At this time of writing the article I haven't been able to locate Chip Poutine inworld, and at the moment I tried contacting him, Governor Linden wasn't online.
